Hi, On Friday I am getting a VERY pregnant cat. Arnold[she was named that before they realized she was a she] may or may not have her kittens before I get her. That's how pregnant she is. She was abandoned when her family left her behind. I have other cats and, as a result, I am putting her and babies in an office the other cats are not allowed in anyways. I plan on begging cardboard boxes from walmart for her and laying down a spare piece of carpet I have along with blankets and towels and all that. I'm going to try to convince Arnie to give birth inside the box, so it makes cleanup easy. I'm pretty much just freaking out, I've never had a pregnant cat or newborn kittens. What do I do????? HELP!

You are thinking along the right lines!  Blankets and fleece are somewhat better for bedding, kittens paws dont fasten there as in towels. But for the delivery towels are OK - easier to change.

They dont always want to deliver in a nest - their instinct tells them they dont want get their nest smelly...

But very good she KNOWS there is a nest waiting, so she feels more welcome...

Sorry, i dont have my links on this computer, so try to read on on your own!

Tx a lot for helping this little sis of ours, in her time of need.

Arnold may not be arriving tomorrow. Furbaby Rescue was supposed to get her in yesterday but she didn't cooperate and they couldn't find her. They're looking again later tonight. Hopefully they find her and hopefully she's okay and hopefully the babies aren't here yet because its been raining a lot and its cold and I don't want those tiny things and mama out in the rain and cold.

I don't think so, she's really tame and sweet, but she hangs out in several garages and the rescue's president's friend has made her a little house, they just need to find her.

Hmm. Maybe they need to knock on some doors to find her. Hopefully they will get her this evening. Too bad she hasn't been kept inside by someone already until she could be picked up.

I want my cat! I keep harassing the woman every few hours asking if they found her yet.

She may have had her kittens and is tucked away in her nest with them.
True, but its been raining and raining and raining. In some areas, there's a foot of water. She can't be out in that with newborn kittens. She doesn't understand that she needs to show herself and her babies so they can get her and I can get her inside where its warm and dry. :(

Erm, looking in all the usual places she hangs out, as far as I know...I know they've got food set out, and even if she just had her kittens, she's GOT to come back to eat. I'm worried about my little girl.

No Arnold yet. :( At least if they've got her, they haven't told me. Will she and babies be okay outside?

So I need to rant. First, Arnie has not had her babies yet. Second, So the woman who has been feeding her said she showed up yesterday morning and last night. This woman is supossed to bring Arniegirl to Furbaby Rescue. Thing was, she made a trip out to Furbaby rescue today....without my cat. Stupid woman should have taken her inside and just shut her in a bathroom last night!! My cat is going to have those babies outside if she doesn't bring Arnie now! UGH! She clearly doesn't care about that little girl at all, but I do!

No, I think its done for a while, but we've gotten about 8 inches of water these past few days, so its still muddy out and I'm imagining this poor pregnant as heck cat all covered in mud and cold and not having anything soft to sleep on and no one to be with her when she has her babies and its making me cry because she needs to be loved and have someone with her for the birth.
