Hey everyone, Hopefully this is in the right place.

I have a beautiful cat named Jaime he is about a year old. Recently it came to my attention that he had very bad bloating and I have began the process of worming him. I am mostly sure it is worms as his behavior is not showing red flags towards anything else I could find. He eats, he plays, he is happy and loving.

What I am mostly concerned about is that he has... horrible balance and he always has. He often does not make jumps and climbs things very tentatively and clumsily. I look into some nerve problems in cats and once again he is showing absolutely no other symptoms, other then his bad balance.

I'm curious, hes always been a bit chubby, not always bloated, that was obviously different, the tight stomach, that kind of thing. But hes always been husky, i feed him just the same amount as my other cats and I always figured that hes just a bit of a budda belly. Is his Belly maybe the reason that hes off balance? Or are some cats just really clumsy.

Any insight would be awesome.

I have a very clumsy cat with a long history with intestinal and encysted roundworms.  He was once feral and he seems to still have food insecurity issues, which makes him VERY food motivated.  I don't free-feed him, but he's still a bit chubby.  I'd say maybe a pound overweight (15 or 20 lbs overweight in human terms).  He wasn't clumsy when he was young and lean, although he still had worms at that time.  But now he is worm-free, a little chunky, and often clumsy.  I definitely blame his weight.  Like your cat, mine does not have any other neurological symptoms that would suggest other problems.  But if you're worried, get it checked out, definitely!  Good luck!

Thank you! Its nice to know that someone else has a clumsy kitty haha.

I think its also about his weight, or at least his round belly, because I know that since he's gotten all bloated, his balance has become even worse. I was just curious, they are so graceful i wouldn't be surprised if they could still be so while a little 'curvy' (I've seen some heavily pregnant queens make jumps that make me pale x.x)

I'm not TOO worried, he's not changed sleeping, eating, toilet or play habits thankfully but I will make sure to keep an eye on him for changes

thanks for your help and all the best to your 'chubba bubba' too haha :p
