Rash?? Scab?? Idk

My kitten Charlie has this weird red scab bumpy thing on his ear. I am taking him to the vet tomorrow but I was hoping to hear some opinions before I do so I can know what to expect.
A few days ago i noticed on the base of his neck wad kind of scabbed and flakey and I pointed it out to my vet and she said it was dry skin. She told me if I noticed more to put my cat on Hypoallergenic food (i have no idea how that will help). It was a different type of scab then the one I am concerned about. Then today out of no where I noticed this red scab bump on his neck. Any opinions? It was hard to get decent photos sorry! I will try to get better ones but he is fidgity

Could it be ringworm? He was adopted from a shelter almost two months ago. FYI he is almost 4 months old and 3.75 pounds. Idk if that's relevant 

It takes up to a month or so for ringworm to pop out after exposure.

This doesn't look like ringworm to me, I can see dry flaky skin above the spot on his ear too, I think it's related to a food sensitivity/reaction.
