hi..
I recently moved very far away & now my cat Tweak has escaped from my new place.. He is 3years old, spayed & he is an indoor cat with outdoor access..
I moved first to get everything moved into the house then I moved my cat after I was settled into the new place..He escaped 3 days ago and I did spot him the day before yesterday, he hasn't responded to my calls since.. I have put out food, his favourite blanket and random treats in the garden.. But still no luck.. at this stage it feels hopeless because I stay on a farm and the area surrounding my house is mainly dense bush & my neighbours stay really far away.. can somebody give me some feedback please I am desperate to find my little boy..

ok.. so.. after spending the whole night awake I finally spotted my cat running towards the bushes infront of my house. He bolted into the thick bushes as soon as I called his name.. going to look for him first light.. maybe he will come if I try to entice him with food.. He seems to be getting used to his surroundings and pretty good at hiding. wich brings me some comfort knowing he is setting up his teratory and will be in the area.. but I would still prefer to have him home safe with me..

Here is an exerpt from our article on Help, My Cat is Lost:

If Kitty is outside and not responding to your calls, some of the same things will work. Try the can opener, the treat bag and warmed tuna. Kitty may be in a panic and too stressed to move. Does Kitty like to hide under things or climb high inside the house? That’s a clue to where to look outside. Kitty may be under a bush, behind the firewood or on a tree limb.

Place some of Kitty's special things outside near the back door. Items such as her bed, a worn sweaty or slept-in t-shirt with your scent, and even the indoor litter box. The scent may be very comforting to Kitty and may draw her out of hiding. Consider sprinkling trails of used cat litter leading to your house from various directions. If there is snow on the ground even cats with outdoor access get confused as the usual smells are covered, so something that smells of home could guide them back again.

BUT once you catch him, what are you going to do, since he has access to outdoors?  We used to let our cats outside, until one was killed by a neighborhood dog
.  After that, all our cats became inside only cats.  I just couldn't spend my nights worrying about them.

I'm starting to lose hope I haven't heard or seen anything for four days..I've left out food and personal items around the house but no luck, I've tried calling him out with a tin of cat food & still no luck.. All I can do is hope he finds his way back to me.. :'( any and all advice will be greatly appreciated..
