Summersaulting Kitten

Does anyone else have a cat who does this?

Sometimes I'll keep the door shut to my bedroom when Emmett's inside with me, just so I don't have to worry about him attacking the dog or anything. When he wants to get out he'll cry at the door. I usually tell him to be quiet and I'll let him out later. Then if I still don't let him out he'll do summersaults at the door. Its the cutest thing. I'm going to get pictures of it soon.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has summersaulting kittens?

That sounds funny, and very cute! Mine don't do somersaults. However, I can make Max flop down just by saying her name in certain ways!

I had my friend over and I told her if we wait long enough Em will do a summersault. He did. She was so impressed. She thought it was the cutest thing.

Loki is the summersault king in my neck of the woods - sometimes he does one after another.

Oh please get some pics of him summersaulting!! Pepper definitely has never done that in my presence.

Loki also does what I call twisties - it's a summersault that that goes awry and looks more like a crokescrew.

Mine is too daft to summersault - hes solar powered and he just lays there all day and vegetates in the sun. not much of it at the moment here - so he sits on the windowsill - with his ass hanging over and back legs onto the radiator. Gets his ass warm and I swear the heat goes right through him. I love it when he comes to bed - like having a hot water bottle that purrs!

No summersaults but Saki does flying flips in the air and Zoey flops over to one side when I spank her butt

OMG!! You have to post pictures! My cats definitely are too lazy for that! I wish they did some flips and rolls.

I've never seen a cat do that,But Newman will put his paws under the door and pull it open so he can get out...lol

Ok. After reading replies about the cats that are non summersaulters I'm going to tape Emmett doing it and see if I can make a little video file. I was telling my bf that I thought most if not all cats did that and he said he's never seen a cat do that. So I have to show him the video too once its made. I'll try to catch him this weekend doing and see what I can come up with. I wish he would do it on command, now that would be awesome!

Jeepers skydives but doesn't summersault...... yet. She climbs up my canvas covered wardrobe, waits for someone to sit on the bed and then dives on top of them..... I hope she grows out of it before she gets much bigger or I'll be handing out crash helmets at the door.
