Our 18 month old persian is not eating much , she has recently passed 2 fur balls orally and has diarrhea for 3 days now, she hasn't much energy either.
She is a very quiet cat to begin with .
We were feeding our cats on Taste of The Wild grain free biscuits then the vet told us that they need grains to help with hair ball elimination so we now changed to Hills science diet Hairball biscuits.
Also to give them Applaws wet food every second day.
I thought to give it one more day then take her to the vets for a check up?
Any advice would be great.
Thankyou

If she has had tummy troubles for 3 days, I would take her today to see the vet. She can become dehydrated quickly having diarrhea. Dehydration will cause them not to eat. In my opinion (and I am not a vet) the canned food is the best option. Science diet is not a particularly good food in my experience.

Thankyou, what Anti hair ball biscuits would you recommend if not The Hills ?
Will take her to the vets for a check up.

Any canned food brand can help since the higher water content will keep things moving along the digestive tract. For dry food (biscuits), you don't need a specific hairball formula. Taste of The Wild is fine and better quality than any HIills junk. Generally you want to stick to grain free with minmal fruits and veggies and other fillers.

For hairballs, you can give a hairball gel or treat. Pet stores sell various brands. Tomylyn / Laxatone is propular:

Some people give a little Vaseline (pteroleum jelly) or a little unsalted butter as a treat to help lubricate the intestines and move the hairballs along to the end.

Brushing the fur daily will also help.

A trip to the vet is a good idea to rule out any medical issue that may be causing the diarrhea.
