Hello, my cat Chunky is about 40-45 days pregnant.. I know I should have gotten her fixed, we haven't had a chance due to personal devestation.... Anyways we live in a small place and I thought she'd be ok for now until after our new house was built... I know every male cat around my area and all are fixed, never accounted for someone dropping off a stray since its never happened... Well it happened and my Monkey got caught.. tonight while doing our nightly cuddles I noticed she started having contractions.. I had a cat a while ago who had kittens so I'm aware of what contractions look and feel like.. the kittens are moving I can feel them in there but the contractions are worrisome since she still has 20-25 days left in her pregnancy.. can this just be nothing??

Its quite common, even very  common,  they do have some precontractions.  Its a way of nature to prepare the muscles to the real work coming ahead.

Btw, if you feel the kittens move its less than 21 days left.

Thank you, it never happened with my other cat so I was a little worried, she seems to be back to herself this morning so that helps.... Um she came into heat Aug 7 she escaped and I expect she was caught then on Aug 11, the reason I'm sure she got caught that day is because when I found her she was petrified, licking, hissing, growling.. she's typically a very affectionate cat so for her to be hissing at me is very uncharacteristic of her. She calmed down after I brought her in and held her close to me.... Anyways Aug 11 was 43 days ago so she should have them 20-24 days which would be days 63-67

You are correct in her having about 3 weeks left. They sounded like harmless contractions. Just keep an eye out.

It sounds like she's making nice progress, and the tummy rubs must be very comforting!
