... ...

The other one, however, my little Bee, is the happiest, healthiest pirate kitty you could ever meet. ...

FYI, here are some pictures of my sweet pirate kitty, Bee.

...

Aye, Matie!

What a story and thank you for all that you do.

Yes, I contacted Ms. Juleska and we made some arrangements but unfortunately, the location of the vet is too far from us. My sisters and I decided to bring Bash to a veterinary that is nearby and Bash is scheduled to have an eye operation tomorrow morning, 9 am. I cant really say he will be fine because they asked me if he has been vaccinated. I don't know if he has been because this cat was rescued only. Meaning, if he was not vaccinated, he is at risk for infections after his operation when his immune system becomes low. We are planning to get him vaccinated, but as of now, we're focusing on his eye problem. Please pray for his recovery, that he'll survive. The vet said we can take him home tomorrow if he is okay, but if not, they will have to observe him for another day. He is a very brave cat, when i left him at the clinic, i tried to pet him and he's very responsive, he's trying to play with us, which is why I know that he's strong enough to survive the eye operation.

Thank you ms. juleska for the effort, for the cooperation, and for the big help. Thanks also to those who gave their advices and concern for bash. I'll keep you posted.
So Glad Juleska was able to help you. But most important; I am so happy that you and your family decided to help out this poor innocent little one.

I am wishing good thoughts for little Bash.  He must be in such severe pain. Cats and animals in general, do not show pain. You have to be very vigilant in watching them. Jules has a lot of suggestions. I hope you take her up on them...

Please keep us updated on Bash....

What a relief Bash has now been to a vet and that surgery is scheduled.   Thank you for trying to get care for Bash, and for making use of advice given, he has a whole host of well wishers here, all willing him on and anxious to see him recieve the vet's care as soon as possible.   This all sounds very distressing and can not be easy for you @Lorena Santiago    Sending piles of postive vibes for Bash to get him to his surgery and through it without complications.

Juleska, what is the eye bulging caused by? I'm sorry I've never seen anything like that before and I've been helping and taking in stays for over 20 years. Is it from a fight injury gone wrong? infection?

I am beyond - BEYOND - relieved that you got him to a veterinarian. Now they can give him the pain meds he so desperately needs before surgery too. I couldn't bear to look at the picture's as I know it would haunt me but PLEASE KNOW - that you did RIGHT by Bash and we are all SOOOOOOOOOO VERY thankful and grateful for this. Now he will be cared for and relieved of that painful eye. You are very strong and good for you fighting for Bash and following through to get him medical attention. No matter what happens now - he will no longer be suffering and may have a chance at a better life. Please do keep us posted on how the surgery goes. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Untreated bacterial infections will cause this.

As @catwoman707  mentioned it could be caused by an untreated bacterial infection. In the Philippines there is a particularly stubborn fungal infection that is very common among rescues that causes this and other problems. In simple terms: It's what happens when cats are unable to clean themselves properly and are exposed to unsanitary conditions. And it progresses so quickly that the best rule of thumb if you have a cat showing any kind of irritation of the eye, even if they're only pawing at it and it looks slightly irritated....don't wait even one day. Go directly to the vet. The earlier you go, the better the chances of saving their eyes.

The fungal infection is such a common issue among rescued cats in the Philippines that, by default, whenever kittens are rescued (and there's no mother to care for them), we swab their eyes with clean cotton and sterile saline (straight from an IV bottle) 3x a day and use a special eyedrop, even when it looks like there's no issue. I have had a few kittens with bulging eyes that didn't burst because we were able to treat it in time, and the eye was saved. Believe it or not, the two of mine who lost their eye had completely different issues, they just happened to occur at the same time, within 24 hrs of each other. It's a horrifying sight.

I saw the pictures and I've seen it in person. You are right....you don't want to see. So happy Bash is at the vet. His surgery should be done by now, it's early afternoon in Manila. Looking forward to an update!

Yeah, I've seen this in person as well, having a cat rescue group I think I've seen it all. Pretty disturbing.

The visual stays with you too, hard to forget.

Anxious for Bash's update!!

Thanks so much for helping this poor kitty!

Bash's operation was successful :) He's still at the clinic because he needs to recover. The doctor said we might be able to take him home tomorrow :) He has a dextrose connected somewhere in his hind limb and he's still weak because of some medicines he has taken. I haven't been able to visit him because I was at school the whole day, but my cousin visited him on her way home. She said Bash was kinda weak but when she petted him, he still played with her and circled around her hands which was not a careful thing to do especially when Bash has a dextrose in his other foot. So she didn't disturb Bash for too long, they just talked to the veterinarian about his situation. Yes, they removed his eye, it needed to be done because it is very bad already. I don't have any idea how the eye part is, because as I've said, I haven't seen him personally. My cousin just said that Bash was shaven in that part of his head and that he has a bandage/gauge covering his eye. He is a very sweet kitty, he likes playing even if he's already sick and fresh from operation. It was held at 9 am this morning (in the Philippines) but I dont know for how long. Tomorrow, I'll be updating about his situation, Im hoping we can take him home and that no complications will happen after this. Btw, I'll be posting pictures that were taken yesterday when we went to the clinic.

He kept hitting his eye in the cage because he swirls around it whenever he sees someone close to the cage. He tried reaching whoever was there so we decided to put a cone in his head. Unfortunately, he didnt like it and he kept removing it. It was so fast so I didnt have time to remove them. Before we can open the bigger cage, he got it off already. But I know it was painful for him because the cone maybe hit his eye. It was really a panicking situation. But he's now fine. All I want to happen is for him to survive and recover. :)

It is a relief to know Bash has had his surgery and is now in recovery.   A big thank you for taking time to update us on how Bash is.   Lots of vibes coming his way for a quick recovery from his surgery and without any complications for further infections.

He is a beautiful cat and has been through such a painful and difficult experience.  May his life now be one of comfort.   Thank you for making sure Bash was taken to the vet for treatment to get him well.   I hope your sisters and other family are now happy that Bash is being treated at the vet and to have him home with you all again soon.
