We are contacting PART, Philippine animal rescue team, but there's no guararantee that they'll accept him. We are conversating, they're asking some questions and im still waiting for their reply. My cousin is living with us, we are both talking and deciding. But she's younger than me so she also asks for our opinion about the euthanasia. My sister doesn't want bash to suffer that's why she suggested euthanasia because it's cheaper than treatment. We've contacted some shelters and veterinaries and i hope they can adopt him.

If you cannot get him help then that is the kindest most loving thing you can do. Its also very easy for everyone to tell you what you should do when we're not in your shoes. If the only option is to release him from the pain you have fulfilled your duty to be a good steward of this cat.

Sincere wishes from the universe that some help is offered to you. Hugs. You are doing your best.

Okay listen Lorena, I realize you are getting overwhelmed with everyone frantically telling you to do something right now.

Nobody is trying to harm you or upset you, okay?

We are all trying to tell you this poor baby is in excrutiating horrible, miserable pain, beyond your wildest imagination. Simple as that.

This cat absolutely needs the eye removed. Sadly, I can see in the other eye that it was once savable with just a cheap vet visit and a 10.00 tube of antibacterial eye ointment.

So whoever is responsible for this cat, is NOT taking responsibility for it.

Where are all of the parents here? Hasn't any of them stepped in and seen how desperate this situation really is??!

This poor suffering kitty does not need to be euthanized for having a bad eye, kitty will be just fine, IN ANOTHER HOME, so please, take the kitty to any emergency vet and tell them you found the cat like this, and they can take over from there.

They will likely remove the eye and find a loving responsible home. Allow this kitten to live! Just turn the kitty over to them, they will take it right then, just say you found it and it looks like it really needed help so you brought it there.

PLEASE DO NOT WAIT ANOTHER DAY. Please! PLEASE do this. Right now. There are after hours emergency vets everywhere.

Edit-I see it is 12 noon there, so ANY vet will be just fine! No need for an after hours clinic.

This is a beautiful chocolate point siamese kitty, they will surely save it. Poor little thing is suffering terribly.

Your cousin and sisters should never ever own another pet, ever. Thank you for caring and trying to help.

We know you are young, but be this cat's hero along with all of us here!!

By the way, that eye is about to burst, any time now, and it will be more than the kitty can bare. PLEASE take this kitty to any vet right away.

Lorena, I didn't realize you're in the Philippines. I am an admin for PART. PM me.

Are you in Manila? Get Bash to Pendragon clinic in Quezon City IMMEDIATELY.

Yes, I contacted Ms. Juleska and we made some arrangements but unfortunately, the location of the vet is too far from us. My sisters and I decided to bring Bash to a veterinary that is nearby and Bash is scheduled to have an eye operation tomorrow morning, 9 am. I cant really say he will be fine because they asked me if he has been vaccinated. I don't know if he has been because this cat was rescued only. Meaning, if he was not vaccinated, he is at risk for infections after his operation when his immune system becomes low. We are planning to get him vaccinated, but as of now, we're focusing on his eye problem. Please pray for his recovery, that he'll survive. The vet said we can take him home tomorrow if he is okay, but if not, they will have to observe him for another day. He is a very brave cat, when i left him at the clinic, i tried to pet him and he's very responsive, he's trying to play with us, which is why I know that he's strong enough to survive the eye operation.

Thank you ms. juleska for the effort, for the cooperation, and for the big help. Thanks also to those who gave their advices and concern for bash. I'll keep you posted.

Bless you and your family for making the decision to care for this Cat. It's amazing that they can be in so much pain but still show us love. Please keep us posted. Just because he is not vaccinated doesn't mean he won't survive. I found a cat with its tail badly badly damaged and had to be amputated. She wasn't vaccinated when I found her and she's doing fine after surgery.

That poor, sweet baby. I hope that he has a full recovery.  Cats are so adaptable. Even if they have to remove the eye, he should still be able to have a full life.

Get well soon Bash!!

This is a very very very common issue in the Philippine rescue community. Although I am in Kuwait for work, my home has been the Philippines for more than 5 years now. My husband and I volunteer for PART and I am a board member there. We have over 30 rescued cats and 15 rescued dogs in our own home there north of Manila.

Lorena, FYI, this happened to me last year with two of my cats simultaneously. It progressed VERY quickly, literally overnight from no symptoms whatsoever to eyeball bulging and then burst. Both had to have the affected eye removed. One of them was a kitten, very sickly his entire life, and he unfortunately did not make it....but it had nothing to do with the eye problem. He lived for 3 months in what seemed to be full health after the surgery but passed away when an infection prior to the eye problem came raging back.

The other one, however, my little Bee, is the happiest, healthiest pirate kitty you could ever meet. Bee came to us when we confiscated him and his 3 siblings from some children who'd tied them up in sacks and were swinging them around (these are the 4 kittens in my avatar). He's my love muffin and he personally tends to every rescued kitten we bring in.

Bee had an eye problem the same time that Arry did, both progressed seriously overnight and I was in absolute hysterics at my vet asking what I'd done wrong. They assured me it was a fungal infection that happens often with rescues there and is almost impossible to prevent.

I think Bash will be just fine, and I'm glad you found a vet near to you who was able to work within your price range and take care of him. Please let this be a lesson, though, and if Bash gets sick in the future do not delay taking him to the vet. The animal rescue community there is broad, active and very very generous. Every vet I've ever dealt with in the Philippines is willing to work for discounted rates and take installment plans rather than let an animal suffer. Our mantra is always this: DO SOMETHING when the need is present, we can sort out the details later. I hope in the future there will be no hesitation getting him to the vet. You can also join Cat Care Philippines on Facebook for a very active community that can give excellent advice about health and behavior issues common among cats in the Phils.

Good luck to you and Bash...cannot wait to see his happy face once he's recovered.

FYI, here are some pictures of my sweet pirate kitty, Bee.
