The others are correct. The eye does not look right. Animals in pain will shut down which he seems to be doing. Not your fault.

Bash should be on antibiotics. I'm not sure why after this surgery the vet did not give him any please call. The eye looks like it's filled with pus and that's bad. In the meantime make sure the wound continues to ooze and not get crusted over that will stop the oozing.

I agree with the above posts. I thought the sutured eye also looked quite swollen.

You and your family have worked so hard to save this kitty, please contact the vet and ask. You have been given some great advice and I urge you to follow it. :hugs: [emoji]128149[/emoji]

I share everyones worries about Bash, as soon as I saw the swelling on the side he has had the surgery I thought it didn't seem right, so much more swollen than your last set of pictures.  The information from catwoman707 who is dealing with similar surgery too shows how different Bash looks.   I hope you are able to get him back to the vets really soon, of not already there, and there is something to stop this infection for him.

Important to get some food and liquid in to him so even if he will take food from your fingers try to get him to take something.

OMG. :bawling: This is a very, very serious infection. The vet who did the surgery would want to know about this. That is who you should be contacting now. Bash needs to get to the vet ASAP - immediately. This is an emergency, IMO. I agree with everyone. There is infection under the sutures and he needs help fast. Keeping him in my prayers, the poor little guy. I hope you brought him back to the vet TODAY Do not attempt to do anything on your own with the suture area OR touch the area with anything. He is in great pain. He may need to be in the hospital for a couple of days to be closely monitored. Do not wait, please. I am so sorry for you, hun :hugs: , mostly for Bash.

And one thing we are worried about is the eye discharge. Doesn't it stop? Is it normal?
When my boys had theirs removed, there was some discharge. We were given a special ointment and some drops to use to clean the eye every day, 2-3 times per day. Be vigilant about that. If you weren't given any such medication then talk to the vet. I would at least call the vet and ask them about the discharge....probably want to run him back in for a quick look just to be safe. I doubt the vet will charge you a consultation fee just to look at it for a moment. If he does it will be very low, so it's worth going to ask him if there's anything that causes you concern.

One other note: If the discharge is mostly colorless it's part of the normal healing process. But if you see it start to turn more yellow, especially if it starts to look at all green, then it's definitely infected. If it's clear or white colored it's most likely fine. Ask the vet just to be safe, though.

It's my understanding the vet gave an antibiotic shot. Best to confirm, though.

I'm sure hoping that no news is good news, unless of course it is night time in the Philippines.

That swelling is NOT normal discharge, I've never had an eye react like this after removal.

A minimal amt of drainage is the norm, not the major buildup he has going on. Bet he has a fever too.

I just hope they understand the urgency here, he's not a tough guy as it is, and this infectious fluid can be a major setback.

A few of you know my story of Buddy, the young orange boy? That is why he could not be saved despite ready and willing to remove both eyes, the infectious fluid had too much time to seep and settle everywhere, in sinuses, throat, it can be very bad.

Poor Bash! He's trying darnit, just can't catch a break......

Just worried that it's the weekend....not sure if the vet will be available. I hope so too much change pressure build up in that socket looks very dangerous. Lorena please let us know if you can't get ahold of the vet. We're pulling for you Bash!!!

As far as the plaster on his leg I'm 95% sure you can take it off.
Why were his whiskers cut?

Whiskers like hair/fur harbor bacteria. Basically the same as when they shave the area.

BTW it is now 9 am Sunday morning in Philippines.

Is a cat able to walk straight with half of his whiskers missing and do they grow back as before?

Yes they do grow back.

Tails are for balance, whiskers are for feeling.

Often times I see litters of kittens who were bottle fed, and the siblings will chew off the smallest ones whiskers.

They do grow back :)

:yeah:

My mind cannot stop thinking about Bash. PLEASE GET BASH TO THE VET FOR IMMEDIATE CARE. All of our advice and suggestions for anything less is wrong, IMO. Do not try to analyze the color of the discharge. There is way too much and vet should be the only one you should be relying on now. They will not charge you anything for follow-up care after an enucleation surgery. Bash needs immediate medical attention. I am very concerned for the little guy and cannot urge enough if you have not already brought him in.
