I have been trying new cat litters every time I buy more and still haven't found one that I love.

So far the one I can deal with the best is Arm & Hammer Clump N' Seal Lightweight.. the smell doesn't bother me at all and there's hardly any dust.

Currently I am using the Fresh Step lightweight and cannot deal with the strong smell it gives off.

Preferably I want one that is odor free or low odor and no dust and also scoopable.

Contemplating trying the Naturally Fresh cat litter. Has anyone tried that out?

Also, Dr. Esley's Precious Cat litter for long haired cats.

I haven't tried the Naturally Fresh. Dr Elsey's is very good but can be dusty. it depends on the batch

You might want to try this one from Cat's Pride. It is hypoallergenic, is 99.9% dust free, is unscented and is lightweight.  I have tried it and I found it to be everything it claims to be. Cat's Pride gives out coupons on their website and coupons.com has them from time to time also. It's more expensive than regular Cat's Pride but worth it IMO.

Still in love with Dr Elsey's Ultra.  At least with my cats there is no odor and it clumps really strong.  I don't have to dump a tub full of litter very often.

I've just started using Tigerino unscented variety and OMG, it's been wonderful. Clumps and scoops easily, very little dust, NO smell (but controls the poop smell very well - I notice the difference as soon as I walk in the door). The cats love it too, they've barely touched the litterbox that still has their old litter!

I'm currently using Worlds Best Cat Litter in lavedar scent. It doesn't smell like lavedar to me. It last a long time and clumps. It's made of corn so you don't have to worry so much if your cat swallows some licking the fur. :lol3: Its expensive but lately there's been a $3 coupon on the bag.

I'm using this right now as well, although normally I like the basic formula better. I don't smell the lavender either and Paul and Chula seem okay with it.

As long as I stay on top of things, I don't notice odor with World's Best and dust does not seem to be a problem.

I use the Swheat Scoop litter.  I love it!  It clumps nicely as long as you have plenty in the litter box, and lasts a long time.  With the clay I had to empty out the whole litter box regularly (though I did not use clumping) but with Swheat Scoop so far I have just had to top it off once in a while.  No smell (I do scoop multiple times a day though!).  I like it mainly because I live in an apartment and it is wonderful to just flush it.  It is expensive but you can usually use coupons, and I think it works out with how long it lasts.  I don't find it dusty at all.  He does track it outside the litter box some, but I think that would happen no matter what I used.

Have you tried an environmentally friendly litter? A pine based litter perhaps?
Swheat Scoop is environmentally friendly.  I have not tried a pine based litter for my cat, but I use pine pellets for my guinea pigs.  I am not a huge fan but I don't have many choices for them, but I wouldn't use it for Sawyer.  I much prefer something that clumps!

If anyone else is a fan of the Arm & Hammer Clump & Seal litter and shops at Target, you can get a 30% discount on the 28 lb box  by downloading the Target Cartwheel app onto your smartphone. Once it's installed, go to the offers (top left of the app) and go to Pets. The offers will come up and you'll see the one for the litter. They also have 15% off  Temptations treats. I LOVE this app. These discounts can be used if the item is on sale and with coupons. Once you add it and you get to the register, show the cashier the scan code on the phone that will have all your offers on it and the discount comes off.

The litter discount is good until 10/3

We really want to start using Ökocat sometime soon. Because I won't be able to be behind him all the time, constantly checking the litterbox, and since my parents don't know how to clean it, we're waiting for winter break to switch Clover to it.

When switching your cat(s) to a new type of litter, and the litter is too different from the old one, you should do it in a slow process, mixing the old and the new until you end up with just the new.

EDIT: Forgot to mention - I like Ökocat because it's anti-bacterial, pretty much dust free, pretty much odor free, holds 500% of its own weight of cat pee, and since it's made of reclaimed wood, it's environment friendly. I don't know which of these are true and which are not, but that's what the company and all its reviews say; I mean, how often do reviews match up with a company's claims? :)

I love Blue Buffalo quick clumping walnut based litter, it has no dust and really absorbs the smells of my 2 kitties.
