okay so I knew my 10 month old kitten Ed chews my hair elastics but every time I saw him chewing I would bin them straight away and I try hide them best I can but he is obsessed. he has been absolutely fine up until today. I came home to find FOUR piles of sick all made up of numerous hair bands :( and then an hour later he was sick again twice, once with chewed up and almost whole elastics and one just fluid. when I said hair elastics I mean pretty big brown ones ( I have long thick hair so they're not small ones) he is also super lethargic and seems uncomfortable to walk. he is drinking loads of water but refusing food. which to anyone who knows him is a big deal as he will eat anything! he isn't as bad since the last sick up and I checked for blood in his sick and poop and nothing. I'm just super worried as he isn't his normal cheeky self and the amount of hair bands was actually shocking. they must of been sitting in his tummy :( do I just monitor him for a day or do I take him to the vet even if he gets better by the morning?

Is there an emergency vet clinic near you that you could bring him to sooner? The fact that you say he's very lethargic and looks uncomfortable is, to say the least, concerning.

Glad you are taking him to the vet. Yes, it is an emergency. Been there. Done that. If you are lucky, the vet can possibly get the bands out with an endescope instead of surgery.

he seems to be 100% better this morning. I think he has managed to pass them himself. I will observe him for a couple of hours and go from there
