Hello all,

I recently neutered my year and a half old cat.

When he came back he hid for almost two days which I expected, then after the two days I had to bring him to the vet again for a check up and he was just given needles and such.

But he has this twitching issue which is more common than it used to be. Sometimes when he sleeps, he twitches and I googled it and I just read that he was dreaming.

But after the neutering he just comes around and lies on his back and starts twitching and I don't think he is sleeping.

He is also sleeping in the bathroom a lot which never happened.

So should I be worried?

Here is a video:

He's a cutie!  He definitely appears to be sleeping in the video because he's mouth-smacking and twitching - both of which are very normal affects in the early stages of sleep.  Nothing wrong there!

As far as sleeping in the bathroom, I don't see a problem as long as he is his "same old self" otherwise.  It becomes a concern if he is still avoiding you.  The bathroom tile might be cool and comfortable if the weather is warm, so he'll hang out there until the weather changes.  Then he'll find a cozier place to sleep! :)

Thank you so much for resting my concerns.

But he only used to twitch after I gave him a bath or at random times.. But it was never this frequent. Now after the neutering he does it every time he sleeps.

and as for the lying down on his back, he never used to do it this fast as well. He used to curl up in a ball then after 15 minutes he would lie on his back.

Could it be that he is in pain?

No, he's not in pain. He's just sleeping. Cats twitch in their sleep and even make little mewling noises.  He's sleeping on his back which means he feels safe and secure in his home.  Cats frequently change their favorite sleeping places or rotate between sleeping spots.

Aww, he's sleeping good, mine even sometimes jerks a paw, the same paw all the time, while he is sleeping. My feet do the same once I am seated for a long time.
