Facebook is telling me that it is National Cheeseburger Day in the US.

So, do you like cheeseburgers? How do you like them?

I prefer them medium to medium well with bacon and ketchup on them. :yummy:

Yum!

Cheeseburger medium , if at home and medium well if out.  With lettuce tomato, ketchup on one side and may on the other... if not mayo, then ketchup is fine. if not lettuce and tomato, then plain is fine too..

I just love cheeseburgers!

Medium rare.

when I'm out, I like them with lettuce, tomato, onions, ketchup, mayo and fresh jalapenos. No mustard EVER. If there's no mayo, then hold the ketchup.

when I'm home,  it's plain with just a dash of sea salt. the furkids like to share my burgers with me. Especially LIlith.

Rare. Flop it on, turn it over, take it off. Make it moooooo.

Lettuce, tomato, ketchup (or BBQ sauce), on an onion bun.

Life is good.

Cheeseburger medium well, I still don't trust ground meat any thing less than medium well.  I do have steak medium, I actually like it between medium rare and medium.  I prefer it with lettuce, tomato and mayo.  I love onion rings on the side but they are a pain to make, I usually don't have anything on the side.

This is the one red meat product which I can't cut out of my diet.  We hardly eat steaks anymore (can't even recall the last time). Even other ground beef items like meatloaf/meatballs - don't miss them too much and eat them infrequently.

But I do LOVE me a good burger.  Turkey burgers are ok but beef is king.

Traditional style; American Cheese, medium rare, fresh onion slices, some juicy tomato and crisp lettuce. Maybe a pickle on the side - not big on them on the burger.  A little mayo on the bun - NO ketchup. Not a big fan.

There are others ways to doctor it up which are yummy but this is the way I usually eat them.

Now I want a Smashburger for dinner!

I love cheeseburgers and making them today and didn't even know about this special day.  I love them with lettuce, tomato, onions and of course mayo and ketchup, sometimes bacon.

oh, i love cheeseburgers! i like mine medium (medium-well, if i'm eating out), and i'm okay with whatever they put on it like lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles. but i like my condiments on the side -- ketchup, mustard, mayo (because i like to choose based on the overall flavor of the cheeseburger, and i prefer to add the amount i like and add it fresh to the cheeseburger -- no soggy bun from adding condiments and letting them soak into the bun).

and, i thought i'd add a 'classic', related to cheeseburgers --

I don't remember the name of the cartoon strip but do you all remember the one where the guy was always trying to get 'loaner' burgers.

The last two burgers I've had were burned, so I am turned off to burgers for a while. They were both "gourmet" burgers at restaurants - the first one I tried to send back but they wouldn't do it, so I wrote a scathing review on Yelp. It wasn't only burned but hard as a hockey puck and I threw up the few bites I had after I got home. I received an reply on Yelp that they want to treat my family to a meal - which I'm not going to do.

At the second restaurant I really hesitated to get a burger again, although it was the only thing on the menu that sounded good at the time. I could scrape off a lot of the burned part so it wasn't too bad.

But overall I'm so grossed out by them that from now on, I'm gong to have to cook any burgers I eat, at least for a year or two. Ugh and for the last six years burgers have been one of the few things I can consistently eat since I have so much trouble with my appetite.

could you be thinking of J. Wellington Wimpy of the Popeye cartoon strips fame?  here's more about Wimpy -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._Wellington_Wimpy

one of Wimpy's most famous lines was, 'I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today'.

Ruby Tuesday sent me a coupon for today for a free burger up to $10 with the purchase of an adult entree. If you're on their mailing list, check your email.
