This is very normal. Most pregnant cats become very clingy and affectionate. She sounds as though she is within days of going into labor. Have you made a nest for her?

We have lots of articles you can read on cat pregnancy, delivery, and kitten care in this forum.

Here is an article to get you started:

They often dont take them before labor, or even do it first afterwards.  In nature, they dont want the nest to become smelly too early.  Nor flea infested...

But its good she knows there ARE good nests waiting, it reduces her stress.   :)

Rub her tummy if she allows and wants.  It helps her prepare.

Yes, I'm not an expert, from what I have learned here is that the closer mama cat is to labor/delivery the kittens move into the birth canal and you won't feel the kittens movement. The tightness could be early labor.

How is the mama cat acting?

She keeps licking her parts and she likes to purr a lot and let her rub her stomach and she usually lays there with her legs a part

Please post a picture of your cat so we can see how far along she is.

Also, how old is your cat and how long have you had her?

Sounds like she's getting close.

What kind of preparations have you made for her and the kittens? Do you have any emergency supplies on hand if you need to help when the kittens come?

You don't need gloves.  Here are a few articles worth reading.
