Hello my baby girl of 1.5 years-old just gave birth to one little lonely kitten she has been an indoor outdoor cat from the start, she is smart and known to be a hunter this is her second and last litter as I'm keeping her in till dooms day. Her first litter was just in April of 2015 she gave birth to three cuties and did well with them. Right after the alloted time of mommy hood I made the dooms day appointment, well she jumped of my second floor patio the day of doom and came back but needless to say she was pregnant. She only had one baby on September 12,2015 she past the placenta and has a soft belly, she did have it breech though and the Sach was only around the kittens face... I was scared for her but after watching her closely she seems fine. Eating and drinking water and has passed all the yucky birth stuff with no problem. But I need to know is on kitten normal or did she have them outside but came home to have her last one. I will be taking her to our mobile vet. I love my bermise cat even though my neighbor kicked her while pregnant I'm concerned that maybe this was the cause of one kitten. Thank you for your input. Cash is her name and the little one I call breech for now till I can see if it's boy or girl... Haha

It's okay to have only one kitten. That means she only did a little mating. Cats do not ovulate unless they mate, and most cats mate many times during heat, sometimes by multiple partners, and thus have bigger litters.

I would not allow her on the balcony since that's how she escaped last time. You'll want to get her spayed (which is not doom, it's healthy) when the kitten is around 8 weeks old.

Yep! Interesting, isn't it?

Is the baby nursing mom frequently? Is mom being attentive?

Our stray/feral cat only had one kitten, and they are both doing fine... We believe she miscarried at least one fetus during pregnancy. We also think this is her first pregnancy as she seems to be a baby herself.

Wow four days in and this little one is growing fast and seeing how it is the only one at the dinner belly, it has more than enough. Little one moves around quickly and has a set of lungs even granny can hear...mom is still attentive to all its needs and being a great parent. GOD is good.

Ok, I am back, the little kitten that ws born all alone is not doing so well all of a sudden. First my Cash was being a great mom, then she wanted out an jumped off my patio while i was cleaning one day. she came back but she came back with an attitude, she acts like she does not want to feed her baby, plus I was told that she killed a squirrl and ate it....yuck and double yuck....the baby manages to get her to lay down for a feeding and as soon as kitten gets going good my Cash jumps up and leaves the baby. Ok so it is now five weeks since little one was born and she looks manged....all of a sudden her back legs seem real skinny and she is pooping green...it tries for the kitty litter but makes it 1 out of 5 tries. it was eating kitten food and water but has stoped that. it will go to the bowl but just smells it, she cries all the time and seems cold, as much as i keep her warm with hugs and lamb skin blanket, the little one is not looking good. After reading a few post i am going to buy a bottle ad some pediolyte in the morning. I'm afraid mom gavethe kitten some dreadful squirrle germ and the baby is not going make it. My heart is broken as i feel for the little one when mom acts like she hates her own baby....what is really going on. i will post a picture of its back legs. oh i forgot, mom gave the little one fleas and i had to give it a bath, the little one had so many bugs on her, that they all ran to her face when i washed her...i got them off but could she have breathed some in her lungs...wow this has been a real experience as my cat was a great mom on her first litter. moms getting fixed and this should end any more unwanted kittens on her behalf

I think I would take her and a stool sample to the vet. They will probably give a good dose of dewormer while they have her there. Things you can do until then is get a syringe with some either chicken and gravy baby food, or some good quality wet food and try giving her about a pellet sized amount at a time through the syringe, just put it on her cheek or tongue . Also get some pedialyte non flavored, and mix it 50/50 with some milk replacer and just make it so only a drop comes out at a time of the syringe. My girl was also very skinny but she didn't have the poop problems like yours does.

She definitely needs to go to the vet. Mom should be treated for fleas as well.

You need to take this kitten to the vet immediately. She probably needs antibiotics for a bacterial infection, and may need sub-q fluids to hydrate her. If she has mange and fleas she needs the vet to treat for that too.

For tonight, since you have no pedialyte, you can put a sprinkle of sugar and salt in water and syringe some into her.

This kitten is 6 weeks old and may die if not treated at a vet pronto. She is very ill.

Please let us know what the vet says tomorrow. I consider this an emergency.

If there is an emergency vet that's open overnight I would bring the kitten in now.  Not sure that it will make it without immediate help.  It needs food and fluids and medication now.

I agree! An emergency vet is needed. The kitten will not make it otherwise.

I'm very sorry your kitten didn't make it.

I hope you'll have the mother spayed.
