Food allergy?

My puppy seems to throw up once a week for the past few week. He's always trying to eat grass (but had been like that since we got him 3.5 months ago). He was first on wellness food, and I switched him to 4health. Anytime he does throw up its at night and it normally is quite digested and has grass in it. He eats 3 times a day. He is shedding like crazy too but I think that may be because he's getting his winter coat. He does itch, but we are also battling fleas! He also has a few scabs on his skin, but he also doesn't know when the cats have had enough play and they will scratch and bite him. So it's hard to tell if any skin issues are because of an allergy. I've never had any pets with a food allergy before, and when I look online it lists vomiting by doesn't say if it's after every time they eat or what.

Really hard to pinpoint what could be causing the vomiting with so many possibilities! I know it can be very frustrating. My first recommendation would be to take the puppy to the vet for some anti-nausea meds and a check-up. I am in the same boat right now with one of my dogs, Hannah. BUT, her vomiting is yellow bile and it is in the early morning hours. So I am offering her a few high quality treats in the middle of the night to help with the acid build-up. I do have a vet appointment for her next week though because this just started a few months ago and seems to be getting worse. I think the first step would be the vet. Did he do better on the Wellness brand diet? If so, maybe go back to that one. OR try another brand all together. Maybe a limited ingredient diet that is easily digested. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

He actually didn't have any issues with the other food, I just didn't want to spend so much on food [emoji]128532[/emoji]. I've actually noticed that he doesn't have many fleas anymore I only see one or two occasionally that I pick off, so I think it's getting better. He does seem to have a bit it dry skin also. Also he is smelly haha he didn't seem to smell like a dog before. Even when I give him a bath he smells like 2 days later. I don't give him a bath often because I don't want to dry his skin, but maybe his food is just not good for him.
I took my cats off taste of the wild because I heard it had a lot of recalls but in the dog food world it seems to have good reviews. I'm thinking of trying a red meat variety of that, or going back to the wellness for a bit. I need to compare ingredients in the wellness and the 4health first.

Even if you are seeing one or two fleas, I would still go ahead and treat all of your pets with either Frontline or Advantage, IF you have not already, that is.

Oh we've been treating them for 4 months now. Frontline hasn't been working, the vet gave us a pill for the dog last month (nextgaurd I think it was) [that and the fact the the kids are in school so their rooms aren't as messy and can be vacuumed everyday is I think why our issue is getting better] and for this month I just ordered advantix.

You know - I have heard from other's that Frontline is not working either!! I have always had good luck with it, the Frontline Plus. I actually had to use it this summer on all the cat's and both dogs and it worked very well. I am starting to wonder if the fleas are becoming resistant to these topical treatments.
