So we have two female house cats already, in February this year a male stray started to come into our garden, we began feeding him as he looked scrawny and was very adolescent. Our cats took a shine to him, he is so adorable and has an amazing temperament enjoys being held and loves playing, so we took him the vet to see firstly if he had any owners (he didn't) so we got him neutered and vaccinated, night him back to the house and he stayed with us mostly in the house, except at night when he could go crazy to be let outside, but would sleep on the patio chairs and rarely wonder out of the garden. This habit went on up until 4 days ago, when I let him out as usual but this time he wondered off, I haven't seen him since which is odd as he seems to have gotten used to a routine where he would be back on the doorstep each morning awaiting to be fed. There's plenty of things that could've happened I know. I've gone out looking for him but no sign, the one thing in his favour is his strength, since we have fed him well he has grown into a huge and even muscly cat (like a tiger to pick up). However he has awful balance for a cat, so I'm worried he's fell off something or even that our female cats got on with him have chased him off, as sometimes the one of the cats hisses at him. They're old and he's young so he just wants to play when they want to sleep. Hope he comes back.

Might be a stupid question, but have you canvassed the neighborhood? If he is hurt perhaps someone found him.

Since he is an indoor/outdoor cat and came to you as a stray, it's entirely possible he just moved on. I've had this happen with several cats I've taken in from the streets. There's not much you can do if they're determined to do it. Since he was neutered at least you don't have to worry about him adding to the population.

I hope you find him!

He actually came back last night. Which I was obviously ecstatic about. But I assumed he had gotten stuck somewhere, he left during a big rain storm. He has blood on his nose from where he looks to have tried to force himself out of somewhere. It doesn't resemble a fight he couldv'e had. Also he clearly hadn't eaten, as was ravenous when he came back and due to him originally being a stray I know he can hunt for his food is he needed to but he hasn't, this kinda told me he couldn't hunt. He also seems much more timid than he was previously. So me and the wife are showering him with love and attention
