Hi Everyone [emoji]9786[/emoji]️
I have four beautiful furbabies Preston, Murphy, Tuesday and Phoebe (Foster)
Two weeks ago the baby Murphy who (just turned 1) I rushed him to the vet with stones and he was just about to block. Two surgeries within a weeks time and I finally think we are ok.
Of course I was told to give him RC SO morsels (which he loves) I'm not thrilled with the ingredients and since I have two males I was going to feed both of them this but due to the price I really can't afford to feed both.
I also take care of three feral colonies here in NJ and pay for all the food etc out of my pocket so 120 per month for the two males won't work. ( a case per week [emoji]128532[/emoji])For now I'd like to keep Murphy on it and look for a better food to feed the rest. From reading I see that it should be grain free, low carbs (btw none of my cats eat dry) any suggestions are appreciated [emoji]128521[/emoji] Thank you so much!

Have you considered Friskies ?  The Classic Pate formulas are pretty good .  It is a decent food and very affordable .. Some of them do have rice ..

Thee have been some thread recently on options to feed vs prescription feed, and here is the latest, which references some of the others:   http://www.thecatsite.com/t/305756/food-rotation-for-cat-has-a-history-of-bladder-stones

Good for you for not feeding dry.
  Were you already doing this when Murphy got his stones?  If so, you might take a look at your water
.  Where I live, our water is extremely hard, so I started using bottled water for the cats...adding it to their wet food, and using it in their fountain, water dishes, etc.  Just trying to avoid urinary issues
(and any more kidney cats, since I'm working on number three
)

I live in AZ too, the water here is terrible. I give my cats (and my ferals) RO water.

Thank you everyone! Well he was eating friskies and Fancy Feast ( not classic ) before this happened. I stopped feeding dry years ago when I had a diabetic cat. I also bought a pur water filter now for their water. I am going to check out the link (thank you) and see what my next step will be [emoji]128528[/emoji]
