Hi,
My cat had 5 kittens 6 days ago, sadly we lost 2 of them(our doggy got into the room and tried to pick them up, they both got pierced in their abdomen and the vet informed us that she could not do anything to save them as they would not survive the surgery). We decided to move momny catand the rest if the litter to our spare room to keep them save however she seems very unsettled by the move. I know it was not the wisest decision but my heart could not bear losing another baby. She's now roaming around meowing and seems a bit distressed;does anybody have any advise as to how i can help her?

I agree, she is seeking her missing kittens....   In all such cases, its wise to show the dead bodies, and you carrying them out.  She will grieve, but wont need to seek them.

The same principle with  their alive leaving, for example when you send the kittens to their new homes...

I suspect its just to lock her up with her current babies, giving her as much comfort as you manage.  And wash off any smell traces outside that room, so she wont smell them and be reminded about the loss...

Tragic with that dog.  Usually dogs do manage to carry kittens in their mouth without harming, yours was clumsy, or in hurry...  Tragic, because he surely didnt wanted to hurt.  If he wanted to hurt, the wounds would look differently, he would bite for real, big chunks off, or such.

Im sorry to hear that about the kittens getting but by your dog. I just delivered a stillbirth 2 days ago and it was so sad. It was a beautiful long haired white and brown spotted kitten. The mom is doing ok. I had an instinct, Lord help me, to show her the dead one and she tried, although a new mom, to lick it and such but really was clueless. I took it away after about 10 minutes..

Today she has been a little depressed and sluggish and seems to be hoping it will show up. But thankfly she isnt freaking out.

My heart goes out to you. I was a blubbery crying idiot the night the kitten was born.

Oddly she still has another kitten or 2 to deliver. They are active on her belly. We shall see. Praying and hoping for some life in this house!!!
