The more people that report an auction the longer it takes them to take it down because they have to go through all the complaints...

I went one step further, thinking maybe the person just doesn't know any better. I sent them this email:

You may be new at this, so I wanted to let you know that it is against Ebay regulations to sell living animals on Ebay.

It sounds like you are in an unexpected bind with your tortishell kitten, and I am very sorry to hear that. I am a moderator on a cat welfare board, and invite you to come there for suggestions of ways to find a loving forever home for this precious creature. The address is www.thecatsite.com/forums and you will find a great support network and people from across the country who will help in any way we can.

If you would like to respond to me, please email me at heidi@thexxxx The default email address you will see is actually my husband's home email account.

Thank you, and I hope we can help you with this kitten.

Good idea.

It sounds from the description that they just didn't know - hopefully they'll find a home for her through TCS.

"The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale."

Yay! It worked, the lady took down the auction early! Now let's hope she comes to TCS for advice

I got an email back from her.
She said that they aren't interested in making money or anything, and it was a silly way for them to advertise that their kitten needs a new home, and they didn't know that it was against Ebay's regulations. She said she will be screening any potential adopters very thoroughly, and will keep the cat rather than any thought of sending her to a less than worthy home.

I wrote back with a couple of threads from here and adoption resources from Save Samoa, and said that I hoped she didn't think I was being too nosey! LOL

IA. If you need me, just meow..
I'm glad they took her auction off. Forgive me but some people are not using the brains they were given sometimes.
Brad was looking on Ebay one time and found someone trying to sell Wolf pups! He contacted Ebay and they stopped the auction right away!
Comeon, how lazy can you get?
