We caught a stray and shes pretty scared of us and already bit my dad and I while getting her. Shes in our dog crate at the moment but we dont exactly have the money to get her tested asap. I have 3 other cats and 2 dogs and I want them safe so if we need to get her in soon than we'll try but she wont let us near her and I dont want to risk getting bit again in case of infection (another thing we'll have to go in for. I just want to do whats best for her and my other animals.

whats the latest i should take a stray to the vet?

Our vet always says within 24 hours; cats the shelter takes in are taken to the vet"s within 24 to 48 hours. You really should get her there while you have her in the dog crate. If/when she manages to get out of the crate, you might have trouble getting her back in it. You'll also want to make sure she doesn't have fleas, etc. ASAP.
