Hello,

Yesterday I rescued 2 stray kittens from the street. They are approximately 8 weeks old.

One of them, who was the fatter and more active one, I think a little boy, started acting weird tonight.

Note, they are very very scared of me, in a shock, I can hardly get close to them, they keep hissing at me and just cuddling together.

They did play today a bit, when I sneaked off and left them alone.

After that, the little boy started acting strange. He kept on sleeping and not moving an inch.

Also I did not see him eat or drink milk at all. He only ate a little bit of tuna sooner today, before the playing.

He is breathing really fast, about 80 times per minute. He won't move, won't even hiss at me anymore, just keeps sleeping, closing his eyes and just

generally not looking to good. His little sister, who is much skinnier, gave him a bath today while he was sleeping and shes much more alert,

paying attention to my every movement. They are sleeping togheter in a box right now, cuddling.

I am very worried, it is Saturday night, I can not take him anywhere today or tomorrow.

The kitten is in danger!

Rapid breathing and not moving is huge and must be seen immediately!

How is it going?  Its an emergency vet errand, but this you know.

Be sure they have it nice, warm and comfortable - but it seems they do have so.  The sis is comforting him...

I would advice some pedialyte waiting for the vet to open, but with an more or less uncoscious, Im not sure if you dare... If he doesnt manage to swallow properly, things will get worse..

The only real consolation is, if he survives tx to your care, he will be easier to foster, the window opening up again.

Possibly this is true for the sis too, her seeing you did tried to help.

Please report, and good luck!

Hello,

Thank you for your replies!

The kittens are fine, in fact he was fine a few hours later I posted the question! He started playing crazy, attacking his sis and all.

I am guessing he was just super tired emotionally and physically.

Now they are fine and happy. They still wont let me approach much, but sometimes I can pet them.

Thank you again!

Tx for that good report!

So its essentially just the fostering part left!    Work rather intensively with them, they are a little to old to dont need to be fosterd, but fostering NOW is of course easier than fostering later on...

I see the upper one is a mackerel tabby, the down one is a broken mackerel tabby.  However, its possible he will get so many individual spots on his/hers body, shehe will be technically counted as spotted.

Two nice and charming guys!
