Is it ok to fill kitty's bowl with water, then let it freeze and give her ice then? Will the cold mess up her digestive system? This is frozen water in a bowl, so its not like ice cubes which may lead to broken teeth. Any thoughts?

Cats won't drink frozen water. It's OK to give her water that has been frozen and then melted again, but she can't lick ice as her tongue will stick to it, the same as yours would.

Why do you want to freeze her water?

It's not possible for any animal (or person) to drink water that is completely frozen. A warm tongue will stick to ice and very cold objects and that may cause injury or frostbite.

Ice cubes don't cause broken teeth. I've never seen a cat try to eat an ice cube. Maybe a nearly completely melted small piece but what's left is soft enough to melt in a cat's mouth right away. Most cats will bat ice cubes around in the water bowl.

If you want to provide cool water for your cats in hot weather, you can use a special freezer bowl for pets. Here's one such bowl: http://www.myfrobo.com/product/frobo-pet-bowl/ There are several other brands.
