New Here - Our First Cat Together

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum, obviously!  I have owned multiple cats throughout my childhood, but my husband and I are adopting a cat together for the first time.  He has never owned a cat before, so he's a little newer than I am.  

Our kitten won't be home with us for some time still - she was born on 8/22 (three weeks old tomorrow!), so we're waiting for her to be 12 weeks old before we take her home.  She is a brown spotted Bengal.  We haven't named her yet - I want to get to know her a bit first before settling on something, although we've batted around a few ideas.  We're both having fun preparing for her arrival and "catifying" the house.

Looking forward to spending some time around the forums and chatting with you all in the mean time.

Welcome! I am a newby too, but not a newby with cats. I like this forum and I think you will too. Lots to learn and lots to share. Ooo, a Bengal! I find their photos are so fascinating, so beautiful! I'd love to have one, but I find enough fun and love with just rescues for now. 

Thanks for the welcome!  My previous three cats were rescues, and I have always adored them.  My husband is allergic to cats, and has found that bengals don't seem to make him react as much - which was why he ended up leaning toward getting one of this breed.  Either way, we're both pretty excited for her to come home!

I do have a picture!  This is from last Saturday, taken at two weeks of age.  We should be getting some updated photos today or tomorrow, but here is one for now.  She appears quite mystified by the wonders of her hind foot.    Thanks again for the greetings, everyone.
