Hi everyone!

I'm an American living abroad. I've had pets, particularly cats all my life. My husband and I are actively involved in animal rescue work and have 33 cats in our home in the Philippines, all of them rescued street cats, plus some other ferals who come around for food and water. We also have 14 rescued dogs.

I'm currently living in Kuwait for work and have recently taken in 2 stray/semi-feral cats here as well.

Here are some pictures of just a few of our babies.

And just for fun, here's a before and after picture of our most recent rescue dog. I named him Hawkeye because when we took him in (back in April) he was being eaten alive by mites and had almost no hair, except a mohawk down his bony spine. As you can see, he looks a lot better now. The second picture was taken in July, about 3 months after we got him. :)

Looking forward to chatting with everyone!

Welcome to TCS!
What an angel you are for all these little beings.  All your kitties look so healthy and happy - it's wonderful you and your husband are so committed to their care.  You've made such a difference in their lives.  And your poor dog!  That's an amazing transformation.  Poor baby.  He looks so miserable in the before picture and so much happier later.

This is a great site - lots of different expertise here and a great opportunity to talk about and show photos of your babies!

Hi there!  I've just seen your thread here.   A big warm welcome to TCS.
Those kitteh pictures are adorable - that's quite a home full of cats you have, not to mention the dogs.

Thank you for posting Hawkeye too -  he was very lucky to have been found and taken in by you.  He looks so gentle and happy despite what he has been through.   May all go well with your rescue efforts and work there in Kuwait.

Thank you both! Funny story (sorta)...

Not long after I posted this we got a call from one of my husband's customers (we have a custom scooter shop in the Phils). They asked us if we'd be willing to adopt their Golden Retriever named Summer with hip dysplasia. When they brought her by, she was clearly underfed and they told us they'd tried (and were unsuccessful) in breeding her. *sigh*

So anyway, we have 15 dogs now. Her hip dysplasia is pretty bad but doesn't seem to be paining her. We're looking into orthopedic surgery options. She LOVES her new pack, fit in with all our goofballs immediately and, even better, gets along famously with the cats. :)

Summer:

I know this is a cat site so I promise I won't post a bunch more pictures of my dogs. :)

NO!   You can't stop posting photos and stories of your other animals!   OK, so this is a cat site but we love animals, and because of that we have a great forum area specially for those who want to post about all their fur family:  http://www.thecatsite.com/f/41/cats-and-other-animals

It wouldn't be fair to introduce us to Hawkeye and now Summer, and then not tell us how they get on would it?

Oh look at Summer, poor girl.  I hope she is in reasonable health other than her very low weight.   Thank goodness she doesn't have puppies in tow, that would be even more sad for her.   She is lucky to now be in a good place where she can start to get a glossy sheen to her fur and a shine in her eyes.
