Do you prefer cat beds with a foam core or with polyfill? Do you prefer refillable catnip mats versus catnip mats that aren't?

What is your favorite style of cat bed (round, oval loungers, crawl-ins)?

Thanks in advance for your responses!

I only have one cat bed, because my cats like people furniture! Molly does like the round bed I have, it is foam. No pref on catnip mats.

I also have 2 purr pads that the cats like.

I like cat beds best when they are washable , some are really hard to clean . I love oval beds and I like the refillable mats , they are easy to wash too . Like the boog mat I got from you is great to wash

Foam core (if it's thick enough) b/c it stays soft instead of packing down over time.

Refillable...must keep things fresh around here!

I have all 3 types - Mr. Underfoot usually sleeps in the oval one b/c its the biggest. Sylvestra likes the round one. Felixia likes the crawl-ins (I think it's b/c she's small - the others are large cats & won't fit in most crawl-ins). I have found Mr. in the crawl-in a few times, though, making the sides bulge out.
Oreo won't sleep in a cat bed...he prefers the top of the couch, or my pillow.

The beds (yes, I've bought several over the years
) they like most are some I bought at a cat show that are covered with a very soft material that has sort of a flannel/faux suede type of texture. They really seem to love that soft texture. And it would be great if the covers could be removed for washing, too.

If you start carrying any like that, let me know!

I like any bed that you can throw the whole thing into the washing machine. Foam doesn't always hold up as well as some polyfils, although it depends on the type of polyfil. I end up making most of the beds so I can pick and chose the materials.

Mine prefer beds that are cavelike and rounded around the edges - they can curl up in a ball and feel protected by the cover.

Jeeps has a Kitty Kennel, it's a red and black dog kennel shaped bed with 'let sleeping cats lie' written over the door. She loves to hide in it and leap out on passers by.

LOL....I love a cat's sense of play. I've never heard of this kind of cat bed.

my cats spend more time on the dog bed than the dog, so i guess i prefer dog beds with polyfill.

My cats love my dog's bed, it is a huge round pad full of fiberfill. It usually is in the vehicle, but when we do bring it in the house, we find that all the cats will go to it and just sleep on it. It's just so big, we keep tripping over it if we keep it in the house!

My mom bought a bed for my cat this past Christmas. For the first week, my cat rubbed her paws on it (marking it?) and chewing on it. Then, I was absolutely surprised to find her actually sleeping in it one afternoon!! I had to take a photo of her. I would prefer if she didn't chew on it because it's made of wood. I've read other threads suggesting bitter apple. Would this work on something I don't want her to chew but want her to sleep in?

Cute photo! You ask a good question...I think Bitter Apple works by it's taste, not it's smell, so would think it should not dissuade her from still sleeping in it

My whole couch is covered in cat beds! thankfully it is only three! LOL! If company comes over, they either move the beds, providing there are NO cats in them, sit in the rocking chair or regular chair or they stand! (NO, my cats are NOT spoiled! LOL) It's been a LONG time since I've sat on the couch needless to say, but if the cats are happy, the "mommy" is happy and then the rest of the world is happy!

Well, our cats like covered beds just because they like privacy. I don't think that we would ever buy a cat mat with cat nip in it. We usually just spray cat nip on their scratching post.

Thanks for your response! I've found that like most things with cats, there is a variety of preferences

We just bought a round bed (not quite sure what it is filled with) we got it at petsmart for only $9.99 and it is by Companion Road. 3 of our boys have been taking turns sleeping in it, which is weird because they usually don't like cat beds! It's Neko's turn here:

How cute! I think that with round beds, the cats feel snuggled and cradled, and it nicely reflects back body heat....just my guess.
