Pyrantel Embonate (Nematocide)

Hi. Im from the PH and I dont know how to give this dewormer to my Siamese.. He's a 5 month old siamese, i got him last month and the previous owner wasnt able to deworm him so im starting it from scratch. Antone knows how frequent do i give him the medicine? It says on the label to give 1ml per 1kg weight of a kitten. Im wondering how many times do i give him the dosage? Say 1ml today, when is the next? And how many times per day or is it once u gave him a dose today, the repeat is after two weeks, am i right?

Pyrantel is normally given once, then one more time 2 or 3 weeks later. If he has a heavy worm infestation you might need to continue giving 1 dose every 2 weeks for a month or two.

You need to find out how much he weighs first, so you can give the correct dose. At 5 months old he probably weighs more than 1 kg, so he would need more than 1 ml.

Thanks @momto3cats! He weighs 1.3kg as of last thursday and i gave him 1.5kg just to round it of.. The night i gave him the dose, he pooped and found 3 2 inches white worms! And some itsy bitsy little worms too!

I meant, i gave him 1.5ml of nematocide.
