Recently my male 3 yr old cat was diagnosed with crystals/stones as he was blocked.
- Aug 4th and placed on IV and catheter for 4 days.
The RX diet is Royal Canin's SO dry and wet.
I was wondering if there is a more cost effective version of this diet? Any thoughts on Purina Pro Plan Focus Urinary food.

My cat hates pate wet foods but does eat like Royal Canin's chunky stew (SO format).

You could compare to Hills S/D and C/D.  S/D dissolves crystals and C/D is for maintenance.  As far as i've seen, its either royal canin or hills, or the next trip to the vet could be even more expensive than the first trip.
