She had Bloodwork several weeks ago and she's still a little bruised but not as bad as it was. The tech didn't put the cotton on the wound so she bled quite a bit. It was sort of crusted into her fur (my poor baby!)
Is it normal for her to bruise this much? Her entire leg bruised not just around the wound..
Hart to see with her fur, it was a deep purple and faded out to a redish purple throughout her leg (which is the color it is now) does she have an issue with her blood?

Have you asked the vet surgery whether there should have been any bruising around where a blood sample was taken from?  If you haven't talked to them about any results yet then you can check for the results and ask this at the same time.

I haven't noticed any bruising after blood tests done for my cats but it could be the site the sample was taken from.   If your cat had an issue with their blood then either your vet should see it in the results from any test taken, or need to know about the bruising in case there might be reason for a different test to be done.  It could also be that taking the sample was a little difficult if your cat was not held securely and moved during the process, or the person did not take as cleanly from a vein as planned - just as can happen with nurses or doctors and humans.

Oh okay that sounds logical. I just worry with how many health issues she does have. She's over a year old and suffers from a great deal of neurological issues and now I'm worried about a thyroid problem. Thank you for the help, she will have to have it done again so hopefully she won't bruise as badly

None of my cats have ever bruised after blood tests. Maybe not enough care was taken? I would definitely talk to the vet.

Rumi bruises when he's wiggly and uncooperative, but it's gone in a few days.  The techs always spend a few minutes massaging the area after a difficult draw to prevent clotting; I wonder if your kitty got a massage...?

Kitties with low platelets can bleed excessively, but that would've been on the CBC.  Do you know if her platelet count was normal?  FWIW I have a bleeder who aced his CBC, so I guess some kitties just have that tendency.

I'm sorry to hear!! It's sad to see them bruised. She isn't wiggly or anything. She's a very very submissive cat and usually sits completely still in hopes they go away.
They did it when she wasn't in the room so in unsure about the massage. They didn't tell me if any abnormalities so in thinking not. They didn't cover the wound with the cotton and she did bleed quite a bit until it clotted.

How is she looking now?
Thank you for checking up on her! It's healed now, but she had to have Bloodwork again in the other leg, and it's just as badly bruised and a little swollen. The vet said her Bloodwork was perfect, can she just be an easily bruised cat? Why her entire leg not just around the entry wound?

Dos the Vet know now this has happened again?  I'm guessing it doesn't show up instantaneously.  I would send him a picture of what it looks like since the blood draw and ask again....IS THIS NORMAL?  (because it isn't!  (I doubt he will have an answer, however, since her bloodwork is perfect)

How's her other issues....isn't she the one who eats and eats and can't put on any weight?

I think the suggestion of taking a photograph and showing the vet is a great idea - it is interesting that the same thing should happen again.  It is not normal for bruising like this so the vet should be interested and best for them to see it as what one person describes as a large bruise may only be a tiny mark - but what you posted above was certainly not that.

Still it is good to know her tests all came back fine - just want to know the vet is aware of how she is bleeding when tests are done!
