Her vagina is clearly not tight and shut, and she does have a bit of mucous in there too.

I don't think it will be long at all.

You can't see dilation, it's inside at the opening of the cervix.

Only when the babies are about to be born will you see her opening open up.

She's getting there! :)

I agree with Catwoman that you probably have nothing to worry about.

She needs to dilate all the way in order to have her babies. This usually occurs over a period of a couple of days. Not to worry, she's moving along well.

Continue asking all your questions in this same thread.

At what age do you plan to retire her?

You said she is four years old and this will be her fourth litter.

Didn't your vet say to call tomorrow if she hasn't had them?

How is she acting? Any sign of labor? Any discharge?

This was my vets response tonight I messaged her via FB

"as long as everyone is doing well - ie babies are active and momma is doing well I wouldnt actually make an appt at this time. Again I have never once had to induce an animal of any kind so wouldnt do it unless there was a reason to (ie if everyone is doing fine no reason to intervene). if u want an x-ray to date them and to see how many their are it would probably be way easier for u to meet me at my Sussex clinic "

She nested again her vulva looks more open again she's eating drinking water and chased a bug a slight bit of clear discharge but no labor

I agree with your vet. Since she's not in distress, I would just wait. She will go into labor soon. There does not appear to be a reason to induce at this time.

The clear discharge is indicative that labor is coming.

I really appreciate the help . She is my baby and I'm so worried about her . You have helped me more then you think :) when cats breed how soon after do they release eggs ? The vet thought she released them late but I always though the eggs happened right after the mating

The eggs are released over the 24 hours following mating, however; it can take 2-4 matings to induce ovulation. Your cat was bred June 28-29. She may not have released eggs until June 30th. This would put her at around 70 days tomorrow (Sept. 8th).

She's not really out of the ballpark yet. Cats can easily go 72 days. She's showing signs that she's about ready to go into labor soon. This is not an exact science, so it's best to let Mother Nature run her course.

Your cat is not sick. She has no foul discharge. She's not in distress. So you need to give it another couple of days. Since she's already had 3 litters, once labor starts, it will probably go quickly.
