We got a kitten, and he wrestles with my 4 year old cat a lot.  Well, he keeps either biting or clawing my 4 year old cats lip/gums.  His lip gets all puffy and looks infected.  I keep putting stuff on the inside of his lip/gum, but just as it is getting better, they wrestle again and he gets a new injury.  The stuff I am putting is helping to an extent, but I am afraid that I won't be able to get control of it and the infection will go septic or something.  Is there anything natural I can give him internally, that will help ward off infections?  Also, I am concerned because we are leaving in a week, for a week vacation, and I can't expect someone to come here and put something on his gums 3 times per day.  Any suggestions for warding off infections?

Not sure what to tell you, but I think the infection may not be 100% resolved and is recurring because he needs antibiotics.  Or he may have an oral health issue unrelated to the rough play sessions.  Maybe someone else will have more insight, but, personally, I've never heard of this happening and think a vet exam is in order.  Best wishes and keep us updated!
