I have a 5month old russian blue that is currently positive for FeLV (we are retesting next week). She was found stranded at a skate park about an hour away. My husband scooped her up and brought her home to me. Her stool has always smelt pretty foul, but now after we have treated her for worms 2x and gave her a probiotic, her stool is now a pale creamy foul smelling yuckiness. Tonight there was even some traces of fresh blood. We gave the vet a stool sample and she said as of right now, they can't find anything. They are going to call tomorrow, but said they may start her on a compound medication just in case (worried it may be Coccidia). Has anyone ever had anything similar??

One of my newly adopted kittens(4months) was treated for coccidia when he was at the shelter. It is my understanding the feces are mucousy, sometimes greenish and tinged with blood. By the time I adopted him a few weeks ago, he was testing negative for parasites, but he still had smelly runny poop, but it was not pale or creamy.   So you are saying the vet did the fecal float already?  I was told by my vet that the smelly runny poop could take weeks to get over and to give 1/2 a packet of Fortaflora with his Wellness Core kitten food.  I've had him tested 3 times now, and it took awhile, but his poop is finally firm and normal smelling.

Pale stool can sometimes mean liver problems;did your vet do bloodwork by chance? I hope your girl feels better soon.

Okay, good!  Fortiflora is a nutritional supplement that contains a probitic.  I used it a lot for my older kitties, it somehow enhances them to eat as a side benefit. You can get it from your vet, but I got mine at Amazon, it is less expensive.
