A lot of these guys had been held by the renter of the house and he occasionally "pitched a little food out to them". Of course none are neutered or spayed so here we go. Seventeen in all with a lot of Manx mixed male kitten which should be adoptable according to my wife...ha!

We have 4 done so far ....$210 Maybe two adopted.  The inside photo's are those resting from surgery or waiting.

Thought might enjoy some pics

Thank you for caring.  What a huge issue you have.  Is there a cheaper place to take them or could you ask for vouchers?  In my area it's also about $50 per cat, but if you have lots to do, they sometimes have vouchers for $10.  You might call some rescues or shelters and ask.  I didn't know they existed until someone told me to call one of the shelters in the area.  They had lots of extra vouchers.

Good luck to you and thank your efforts.  The kitties are all so cute.

Lovely kitties, bless you.

They seem to be the same pattern of ferals we have here in MD.

Calicos, tuxs and gingers.

Interesting.

Some good news... We may have 6 adopted! This is a full time job. Now begins the worry of " what if they don' t work out? Will they call to return them? What if they don't?
This adoption business is worse the the trapping and neutering!

Well, only the twins ( bobtail boys), two older males, a really timid little yellow tabby and a very scared little black bob tailed male left to trap and we are done!!! With this phase, at least.

"Tuxie" our gentle bobtail tuxedo kitten went to his new home yesterday... Seems good people who already have an older cat that needs a companion...they were thrilled.
Midnight, our shy black tailed male went to a boy and his mom today. Just crawled up in his arms and started to purr... It was an instant deal! Also good people who had recently lost their older cat.

Another bit of good news. The twins as we call them...in the first pic the two tuxedo with white fronts in the right were caught and brought home. Amazing, just picked them up and put in the carrier. No scratching or biting so thanks for the prayers/vibes...it worked. Now the process to neutering and taming begins. The are scheduled to go to a forever home in 2 weeks and TOGETHER!!!!Yay!

Anyway now to hard part begins. Trapping and neutering to 2 older males to be released back to the barn.... Not my choice but necessary as nobody wants old male cats. Also to deal with the unadoptable ones left...will post their pics later.

All in all a good day.

Now grinding chicken to feed the "pack"
