There's one that seems to keep falling on it's side and just laying there. I tried to feed it, it ate some but not very much. What can I do?

You can bring the kitten inside and try to give it some of the water mixture. It's probably dying, so the best you can do otherwise is hold the baby and comfort it while it passes. I'm sorry.

That's what I thought, but thank you. I'll be out here with it, but I'm going to let it stay with it's siblings since they're all cuddled up.

Okay, are the other five doing okay? Have you seen the mom this morning?

They seem to be about the same as yesterday, but they look okay. Yes, the mom is right near the nest, but she doesn't go in. I wonder if it's because of the fleas...?

You may need to feed the kittens with formula if mom's not feeding them.

I've been switching between the water mixture and the KMR, hoping that would help them. When the kittens wonder outside the nest, the mom will feed them and clean them, she just won't go in.

He's still hanging on, but I don't know how much longer he'll make it... Praying for a miracle.

Once a kitten begins to fade they usually don't make it, but I certainly would not give up. Will he take any water or KMR?

I would give kmr rather than water for it's best chance.

All of them actually, they need to catch up and stabilize.

Perhaps mom won't go in to the nest because it's too hot.

You can feed the mom some of the KMR in a dish. It will be good for her as well as the kittens.

Yeah, I was switching off, it wasn't plain water though. It was a mixture of water, sugar, and salt. Sadly that kitten passed and another one passed a while later while I was gone for an hour. Two of the four kittens left don't look too good, but I keep trying to get liquids in them, and the other two look like they might pull through. They have clear eyes and are more active.

I will try, but the mom doesn't give the kittens a chance to nurse. As soon as they get to her, she starts licking them so much that she pulls them away from her and then they give up. Two of the kittens can't barely even hold their own body weight to nurse.

You really need to be feeding them KMR since mom is not feeding them. I'm sorry they are doing poorly. This is a very sad situation.

These kittens are starving to death, literally.

I don't understand why you are not hearing that they MUST be fed kmr and get used to using a bottle until they can be weaned.

There is no reason for them to die simply because you are holding out in hopes that mom will care enough for them, she is not and has proven this for some time, long enough for them to get in this state and dying.

Plain and simple, you will lose them all eventually unless you take control and get them in to a box inside and start feeding them every 3-4 hours so they will get strong and grow, and most of all, live.

I think perhaps it is already too late... too long without a proper feed, unfortunately these kittens will most likely die if they really are that weak.

I continued trying to feed them KMR every three to four hours, but they kept getting progressively worse and kept eating less and less, so I gently tried to force them to eat, but it didn't work. They wouldn't drink the KMR out of the bottle at all, so I had to syringe feed them some of them looked like they had dried blood just around their noses. So I was thinking maybe it was some disease/infection, or or genetic thing on top of everything else. Anyway I kept them all warm and well fed with KMR until they all passed.
