My cat who is 12 was brought to the vet yesterday because she has lost weight and hasn't been eating like normal. I thought it was from stress because we've had some
Changes in the house but that occurred two months ago and everyone said she should have been over it by now. Well the vet found a mammary growth. He said it is small but not sure how long it has been there. She just recently stopped eating as much. She was spayed as a kitten, definitely younger than 6 months before a first heat. She is not a Siamese. What would cause this? she's never been on hormones ever. I don't understand what would cause this in her and I am very upset. The stress she has been under was my mom had moved in with her dog and male cat. Now I haven't let Katrina see either one so as to keep her stress down but is there a way she smelled the male cat and had something to do with her hormones, maybe they screwed up her spay???So confused and upset. We're getting her blood work back today to see what everything else looks like.

Sometimes things just happen
Just like things happen to humans.  Doesn't matter how hard you plan, or how well you take care of yourself, things can go wrong.

But try not to get too worked up until you know there is something to worry about.  It might not be cancerous.
   Did her bloodwork show anything?
