I posted really late last night but I'm trying again. About a week ago I noticed that only one of my cat's eyes reflects light. I took the picture below last night while holding his eyes open to get a good shot. The non reflective eye has a small part of the second of showing and today I noticed it is a little red, he is holding that eye a tiniest bit more closed than the other eye. He doesn't seem to be in pain, I can't tell if there is vision loss or not though it doesn't seem so. He is otherwise acting normal. He's about 11-12 years old and has asthma as well.
Anyone seen this before?

A small part of the second lid showing and that part is a little red. Sorry for my poor auto correct.

I've read about this somewhere but I can't seem to find a good source for it (I did a quick google search) but eye shine in only one eye can be a good indicator that either the eye isn't working or there's something blocking its vision like a mass or tumour. I would call your vet and see what they say about this.

How are your cat's third eyelids? Is it sticking out in the eye that doesn't shine?

I little bit. If he develops pain I will try to get him in to the vet. We are just so broke right now.
