Yay! It's September! Finally the month is here that I can tnr our kittens! Our spca wont do it until 4 months. I'm so excited that hopefully by October all will be fixed! But, that brings the cold weather, and while Northern California is pretty mild, were due for a very rainy year. Any suggestions on keeping them warm? We were planning on boarding up our shed, where we found the kittens in the first place, but maybe we should wait till spring? Or not at all. [emoji]128533[/emoji] it was very, very flea infested, but a few weeks ago we put a thick layer of de down and that took care of them. I was thinking about making an insulated cat house, but I would have to hide it from my landlord. And it would have to house 7.
Any suggestions? What do you do with your kitties in the winter?

I think the shed is a good idea. A neighbor of mine has fixed her sheds for her colony with shelves for beds and an eating area. She has several sheds, actually. One even has litter boxes!

She's put smaller wooden boxes on the floor that are stuffed with straw as well as a Rubbermaid tote house. The cats find it nice and homey. She cleans it thoroughly every spring.

Anything you can do to help them find shelter in winter will improve their lives greatly.

Ooh that's a good idea! My husband may kill me for encouraging them to go in the shed, but I want them warm. Thanks for the ideas!
