I have an outside cat that was abandoned by her owners when they moved, she is spayed and I feed her on the porch, as she hates the inside with my passion and my other cats treat her poorly. However, tonight when I came home, I saw an orange Manx kitten eating on my porch, he has a short nubby tail. I had never seen him before! I got out of my car slowly and tried to get him to come to me, but there was no way! There aren't even any orange cats/kitties in my neighborhood so I have no idea where he has come from, the poor baby! I am thinking he is about 10-12 weeks. It was around 9:30PM and since he was eating, I am sure he will be coming back. I have a trap. I just have 6 cats of my own now and not too sure what I will be able to do, but I do believe it's best I catch him, try to acclimate him to me, check his condition, and see what I can do for him or what someone else may be able to do for him. Not to mention, my neighborhood does not need any more tomcats growing up around here and living while we are trying to get the rest of the females fixed. Cross your fingers for me, and any information or experience anyone has with Manx kitties is highly appreciated. A huge part of me is telling me I cannot afford to catch him and I know I cannot afford his care if he has any spinal defects/issues, but my heart tells me I cannot leave him to live the outside life!

*update*

I have contacted a lady who is already taking in a kitten someone contacted me about who has no function in his back legs. She is in the middle of opening a rescue and I am checking to see if there is any chance she would be interested in helping this sweet boy as well. I am crossing my fingers, as I feel she is my only hope at giving him the quality of care he deserves and needs. I feel it would be hard for me to trust anyone else with him and to give him the chance he deserves, in case something is majorly wrong that requires more effort than a lot of people want to give. I know she will give him her all, so I am hoping she is open to it!

Your post doesn't mention it, but does the kitten show signs of the spinal issues? Not every manx has those issues.
