I feel like I must be missing something here.

This started maybe a week ago, today it dawned on me, this is not only not getting better, it's getting worse.

Both of my cats are not eating, they each have their own issues, and I thought it was just a coincidence, but now I'm not so sure.

The ONLY thing changed or different is, right around the same time this started, well maybe a couple of days before it started, I did bring home a momma cat and her 2 kittens, who were going to be euthanized at the shelter, but they are on the back deck in a large cage.

Simone started it by suddenly hanging and sleeping under the bed, all day long. Her behavior made me think she is getting too much methamizole for her hyperthyroidism, which happened before, but we lowered her dose and she has great blood results, etc. No sooner did I say to her how much thicker she is feeling again, losing that bony butt and shoulders feel after getting too high of a dose of meth.

So I thought it must be that again, she is on the transdermal ear cream. So I have really been careful on the amt I give her thinking I should see her bounce back again within a few days.

Well not seeing it. I am barely seeing her eat too, food goes untouched.

Now Krissy who has IBD but has been stable for so long, doing beautifully has started this same crap. Sleeping all day long in unusual spots, and no interest in food. I first really noticed about 5 days ago that she was eating less, that night she woke me to vomiting sounds but nothing came up.

Then a couple days after that I found a small bit of digested food vomit. So now I'm thinking, okay, is it that time to switch her protein or what?

Too coincidental, I'm thinking so.

Yesterday I gave them both some albacore tuna and juice, which I also added plenty of extra water to, Krissy drank all of hers, Simone only drank the liquid, maybe a bit or two of tuna.

Today, nothing. Neither has eaten enough to speak of. A couple of small nibbles off of each chunk of canned they always get in the am, Krissy didn't ask me for her 1/4 cup of BB LID dry turkey food.

No treats either, nada.

I am lost here on what to do. Of course I fear HL/fatty liver happening, do I take Simone back again to the vet? She was just there though, not 2 weeks ago.

Plus Krissy is chubby, so even more prone to it.

Ugh........

I spend my days and nights rescuing cats/kittens, helping this group and that person, humane society drama, rescue drama, never ending.

It really hit me a bit ago that I need to stop and deal with whatever it is that's going on with my girls asap.

Could they have gotten a bad batch of food?  Hot weather?  Are they showing signs of nausea: lip licking, smacking lips and walking away? If you have it, ondansetron or cerenia worked well for me. Is their poop normal?

My kitty Tiger took Tapazole briefly before her I131 treatment, it made her vomit, so that could be a possibility for Smone.. I would bring both kitties in for a check up. My rule of thumb is a day or two of not eating-they go to the vet. I admit, I am an ultra worrywart, but who needs DKA or hepatic lipadosis!

Both have normal poop, but small, less frequent since the lack of food.

Actually when this started, it was super hot for a few days, which made me think they were just hot and not feeling like eating, I've seen that before, another reason I disregarded it.

Bad food? If so it shouldn't still be going on, plus I would see diarrhea/vomiting.

Krissy had nausea for a couple times, the one episode of vomiting but nothing came up, then 3 or 4 days ago she did vomit a very small amt of digested food.

Simone shows no signs of nausea at all.

I can't help but think that I brought some virus with the cat family from the shelter, they don't interact but of course I do, and since they seem healthy I'm not super vigilant about washing my hands after petting them.

Just seems so odd though, and besides, what virus could this be anyway?? I know all of the things that come from the shelters, uri's, panleuk, ringworm, etc. All the norms.

I'm just baffled here.
