Hi all,
My beautiful tabby Bella was killed 2 weeks ago ( devastated is too much of a weak word) . She had a litter of kittens and I kept just the one to keep her company. He is a beautiful and friendly baby boy called Tommy. He's just a beauty and is about 4 months now. I've been off sick and spent a lot of time with him since Bella's death. He's extremely cuddly which I just adore but I'm worried he's missing feline company as he's taken to following me everywhere and any chance He will just cuddle into me , if he could he would be stuck onto me all day!
My question is; do you think we should adopt a rescue cat or kitten for company for him or will he hate this?
Thanks in advance..

My friend's cat became extremely clingy and cuddly after his brother passed suddenly. And from the obvious, it seems Tommy is doing the same.

I think another cat is a good idea and would give you some peace of mind. I'm thinking I would choose another kitten instead of an older cat since some older cats might not be able to tolerate kittens. Just my thoughts! I've heard an older presence is also a good idea to ground kittens and help kittens learn how to be cats (but your kitten is already 4 months!)

Now would be the perfect time for a new addition! And he will LOVE it and so will you

I got Keeker when he was just 6 weeks old. Then, a week later, I got Kricket. They are 16 months now. Neither of them was planned - just happened to turn out that way. I discovered that they were both born on the same exact day - but two totally different breeds (Domestic Short Hair and a Maine Coon) and litters from two different locations. And they are as different as night and day.

My point is, they LOVE having each other. When I watch them together (whether they are huddled on the window sill chirping at birds, fighting like 2 jerks in a bar, or curled in each other's arms sleeping) I can't help bit wonder what it would have been like if I just had 'one'.  They are brothers to the core and they entertain each other when I'm not able to. Not to mention, they keep ME entertained with all their antics and lovin'.

Get one the same age as Tommy and get them both neutered now. My boys got done at 4 months - before their hormones or any 'bad habits' kicked in. I think because they started out so young together is why they are able to share a litter box, don't have feeding issues, and there really isn't any 'alpha' behavior between them.

Keep us posted and show us some pics!
