Our 9 yr old kitty was attacked by a mountain lion 3 1/2 weeks ago. All her wounds have healed except two locations. She has had her cone of shame on for the full 3 1/2 weeks, but I took it off of her last night. She was getting SOOOO depressed with that thing on her for SOOOO long! I even took it off of her often (strictly supervised, of course), but her depression was deep. She has been to the vet 5 times in the past 3 1/2 weeks. She is on two heavy antibiotics. Her healing is painfully slow. This is what her wounds look like now.

Pictured wound is from the drain tube they had in her.

Go to the fabric store or use something around the house, using the plastic cone for a pattern, cut fabric out that is thick and stiff enough that it will stay forward, I used quilted fabric that you would make a pillow from.

Use velcro for fastening. The softness will help so much.

She is lucky to be alive, keep reminding her of that!

Thanks =) Yeah, we purchased an expensive soft fabric comfort cone a while back for one of our other kitties. The comfort cone is what we have used for Tinkerbells 3 1/2 week stint.
