Last but not least...our puppy.  He is our guardian watches over all of the fur babies when we are not home.  He takes all the kitties in and as soon as I say "Look we have a new baby."  He licks them and then they are part of the pack.  He is 8 years old.

Yep..he is a german shepherd.  Let me tell ya...he heards us too lol!  He loves to swim in our pool.  We built a ramp expecially for him to go up to the poolside. He jumps in, swims around and gets out using the special stairs that we bought so he could.  This has helped so much with his hips.  This picture was taken at a local creek that he loves to run around at.  He is our second shepherd.  I love being owned by our fur babies!

I guess your husband must feel like 5 cats and a dog are enough fur babies for now :).

Aye he does.  I know if I just brought the kittens home he would grumble but you help but I hate to stress him out.  I guess I will play it by ear and see how they look tomorrow when I get out of work.  I just have to be careful of the fleas for Emmitt and Sophies sake.  I will take pics tomorrow and let you know how they are doing.  I worry about them so!

I know you worry. They are doing well so far under your watchful eyes. It's important not to upset the apple cart at home too. You've got to find the balance. We'll look forward to hearing more tomorrow :).

After bathing, getting fleas picked off them, ate a bottle and scoping out the lay of the foster house.

Soooooo..I went to the shelter after work.  OMG..they were filthy, crusty and crying in hunger.  At least one of the ladies there put in some kitten milk and soft food for the to try and eat.  I walked in took one look and knew that they were coming home with me today.

I made a bottle and set it in warm water to get to body temp, medicated the other kitties, checked on the food and water in the isolation room.  Picked up the tabby baby, started bottle feeding her walked out of the sick room and asked what paperwork do I need to fill out to foster them.

The animal control officer jumped up so fast I took a step back.  She said I will do the paperwork right now!  The shelter lady said "For you it will be quick since you come every day."

I told them that I would need to borrow a carrier and use the kitten milk, bottles and such since I left them there.  They told me you brought it...its yours.  And when you run out we have more for you.  I told them that I would bring the carrier back tomorrow after work and they said we trust you.  Bring it when you can.  The animal control officer said I can take all the carriers if I need as I am helping these babies.

I just laughed.  Walked back into the sick room and started putting the stuff I would need in the shelter bag that I carry there.  I cleaned up.  Put the rest of the kitten milk that I mixed extra in with some other young kittens that just came in that were eating the gruel I made.  Took out the gruel to the other kittens in the other ward.  They are eating like champs too.

Sooooo..I get home and hubby is not happy.  That lasted for about an hour.  He has not done anything with them or looked at them yet.  Its only a matter of time lol!

As long as they go back to get adopted he will be fine!

I will post more pics of them.  They are just chilling and taking it all in.  Soft little mews once in a while.  They have full bellies and are just so darned cute!

I am so glad you took them home.  They will be adopted quicker as well since they will be socialized.  Will your husband help feed them when you work long days?

You did it! Awesome [emoji]128149[/emoji].

Did you bring both sets of kittens?

Hopefully it won't take long for your husband to get on board the foster wagon with you. I hope once he realizes they are not permanent he will embrace the volunteer work you perform and the passion you put into it.

They are so precious! I know you feel relieved now that you can care for them in your own home.

Way to go :).

My husband works the same hours as I do.  He leaves at 6am.  I will feed them really well at 6:30 and leave out some baby food (chicken with chicken broth) mixed with kitten milk and have them secluded in my upstairs bathroom.

They will be alone for approx 8.5 to 9 hours during the day.  Which is much less time at the shelter.   Hubby wont feed them..he thinks that babies are too fragile and he will hurt them. He will however, make sure they have food/water and attention when they cry by telling me that they are hungry.  When they get a bit bigger then he will gladly play with them.  This goes for human and fur babies lol!

I only took one set of kittens.  I thought I would be pushing my luck bringing home two sets.  Small steps at first.  Hubby is being really great about it.  I think once he realizes that they are only her until they get stronger and older then he will be much more at ease with it.

Thanks for listening!

Well...I must be doing something right.  These kittens want to eat every 3 to 4 hours with a "top up" in between.  They have been playing, exploring the computer table and generally just being kittens.  I didnt realize how much more they needed until I got them home.  The first day was just sleeping and eating.  Today is eating, playing, sleep for an hour, then back up for more eating and playing.

I absolutely love it!

My Sophie just jumped in the basket I have them in.  Scared them, Sophie and me lol!  I think they are going to have a play buddy soon.  All my kitties are vaccinated and up to date.  I gave the wee babies another bath today to make sure they were flea free...so far I have not spotted a spec of flea dirt of a flea.  I will give them another bath on sunday just to be sure due to Emmitt's allergies.

Emmitt..oh my...he is not a happy camper.  He is my baby, sleeps next to me in bed, behind me in the computer chair, licks me to wake me up, generally is my shadow.  I have not seen him much today.  I keep telling him that these are babies that need our help and are only here for a few weeks.  I just get the "look"  lol.

Ok...babies are yelling for food again.  Got to run!

So last night the babies were climbing out of the basket I had them in.  Hubby looks at me and says, Your kittens are getting out.

I pick up the dark tabby ( I really should give them names), and she just wanted cuddling.  I wrapped her in a kitchen towel and sat on the couch and watched some tv with hubby.  He just looked at the kitten and sighed then said, I guess we better figure something out since they can get out of the basket.  I just smiled.

Today we did your normal errands and stopped at the farm store to see what they had to confine the kittens.  Hubby says your not spending money on a dog crate.  They are too much.  Sooo..we look around and go back to the dog crates.  He is looking at them and the one we wanted was not on the shelf.  A worker starts to head back to see if they have them in back and hubby told him never mind.  He takes me to the next isle and he says what about a rabbit pen.  Its larger and has more space for them to run in since they are so much.  I said ok...he grabs a 3ft x3ftx2ft one and heads up to the counter.  I was thinking oh my word.  He is the best husband ever!  We paid and walked out.  He says to me...I think they will enjoy being able to run around and have a bit more room.

He is a sweetheart!
