We have 2 male cats. One is 8 and neutered, the little one is not yet neutered. He was dumped at our house, so we can only assume his age, which we guess at about 10 months now. He is peeing on my side of the bed. I am the only female in the house.

He is very affectionate with all household members (my husband and myself, our two boys 18 and 3). He just started this in July. We moved to a new house, but he seemed to adjust well. About a month and a half later, he started peeing on my side of the bed. He once peed on a stack of my clean clothes as well (only mine) but every other time it is on the bed.

We (husband, toddler and I) went on a trip and were gone for a month. We laid a tarp over our bed while we were gone and he didn't pee on the bed. Last night (our second night home), he actually peed on ME. He has his own box, which is kept clean, he has no known medical problems and he gets along very well with our older cat. Is he trying to dominate me because I'm female? I don't know what else to do except get him neutered, but we can't keep having him pee on me!

I highly suspect this behavior is hormonal. He needs to be neutered, and soon! The longer he continues this behavior, the more likely it is to be a continuous issue.

On average it takes 60 days post-neuter for all the hormones to get our of their system. But, you will very likely see improvements sooner.

Until then, I suggest cleaning all his accident areas with a good enzymatic cleaner (I like Nature's Miracle) and keep him out of your bedroom for now if that is where most of the problems occur.

I agree with all of that.  The sooner he can be neutered; the better.  There are black lights that can help you make sure you have cleaned all of the spots he has gone on.  If he can smell it; it will draw him back.  Regular cleaners won't get all of the odor; so be sure it's an enzyme cleaner.  (I also use Nature's Miracle.)

Thanks to both of you. I suspected this as well, but needed confirmation of such (the eight year old cat never did this, so new territory!) I'll be calling around to vets tomorrow, hoping this will help... I can't keep him out of the bedroom as we have an open floor plan master layout.
He's so adorable...when he's not peeing on me! :-)
