Yesterday we picked up Jennie from her foster home where she had been with her kittens.  We are fostering her now so her previous foster has room for another mother and kittens.

Jennie is a very young petite gray tabby.  She weighs about 8 lbs, and is either 9 or 11 months.  I need to find out.  She is happily hanging out in Kelvin's room now that he has headed back to school.  Her first night went well and this morning I found her snuggled up with a stuffed dog on the bed.  She actually spent all morning there and came this evening for a quick exploration of my room and a play session and some petting.  She hasn't eaten much yet.

Eclipse and Fluffy are curious about the new comer but intro will go slowly.  They have seen each other and smelled each other on Kim and me.  Fluffy was given a slow blink by Jennie, and Eclipse hissed at her.

Oh, Handsome Kitty, Jennie is absolutely precious!!! Sounds like she likes Fluffy, but Eclipse might be a bit tougher. Still, you never know!!

How did you come to find her? Her coloring is extraordinary! And doesn't she look healthy and happy!! Congratulations on the addition to your family!!!

We are fostering her for Tailchaser Rescue, they take cats and dogs from high kill shelters.  We fostered Fluffy and decided to keep her.  I think we are a two cat family but I want to help other cats in need.

I have to use Kelvin's room to keep the new cat in until intros are over, so I cannot foster in the summer.  Kelvin is pretty good matured.  I had him keep his door open a crack so the cats could get in at night since it was Fluffy's safe room.

Jennie is very pretty and also looks quite young. Has she been spayed yet?

Yes, and has vaccinations.

She is the size of a six month old kitten.

She must have gotten pregnant at either 5 or 7 months old.  I think all her nutrients went to the kittens rather than her growth.  Or it could be genetics.

I waiting to see if she grows some now that she is no longer nursing.  I suspect she was nursing until I picked her up.  Her two bottom nipples have changed shape a little.

I really should find out how old she is.

So far she has turned her nose up at all the wet food I've offered her.  Even the Fancy Feast kitten that her last foster said she ate.   She loves the Royal Canin Baby cat dry and Authority Kitten dry.
