i found a female, shes in very bad shape. theres nothing in this area expect a hotel a hospital and a grocery store, the freeway runs in front. looks like one eye is very bad its cloudy, her fur is awful, looks like bites all over and scabs, she has a deep cut on her neck. her belly is fat might be pregnant. i am afraid to leave her outside because we have several hawks in the area. i cant take her home because i have three indoor cats at home that are healthy, two female. i am afraid for her. its sunday night almost 6 pm so dont know what to do for her but feed her. she was kneading while she ate and is attention hungry but afraid.

Do you have a room you can isolate her in? Even a bathroom or laundry room would be fine. It sounds like she needs immediate veterinary attention whatever else you do. Try to get her to a vet ASAP, and think about where you could isolate her short term. You can always try to find a shelter to take her in the morning if you can't keep her yourself.

Columbine is right. This poor girl needs to see a vet right away. She must be miserable. Once you know what's involved, you'll have a better idea of what to do for her. I know it's hard - thank you for worrying about this kitty.

Oh dear. She really needs a trip to the vet and then a room inside where she can have her kittens. Even if she could stay overnight at the vet while you looked for a rescue or friend who could take her. I know this might be a financial stretch, being as it's an unexpected expense. Can't you at least bring her home for the night and separate her while you figure out what to do? I know you said your other cats would scratch at the door, but is that really such a terrible thing? You are in such a tough spot right now. This is a very hard decision to make!

I understand you didnt plan on finding her and its likely inconvenient, but pleasr dont leave her there okay?
She does sound prego and likely has mange due to her poor state of health, but she clearly has had a horrible time since being abandoned :(
This just goes to show people, cats are NOT fine left on their own

It's fantastic that you've found a vet and will probably be taking her home. You really are an angel! I can't wait for an update.

I was waiting for all of the people to get there today to start my neonatal kitten care class today when I had replied on my cell phone, so I couldn't say much except that I was really hoping you would take her in, and so glad you got her seen!

My concern for her is being felv positive, and I am sure hoping it's not the case and she has simply had a hard life, as she was surely owned before.

I also wanted to comment on your chubby cat Izzy! I adore fat cats! I have one also, Krissy. She's not a fat as she used to be but has always been a chub, had her on several diets over the years, and she is not a big eater either, my vet concludes that some just have that genetic disposition, and she is one of them.

But the funniest part is, how so many patched tabbys like yours and mine seem to be the majority of cats who are fat.

My husband swears this is true, it doesn't make alot of sense to me really, it's not a breed it's a color, but ????.....who knows.
