My two year old was out all night last night, I really don't like leaving her out but it got to one am and I needed sleep.

She came in this morning and had food then threw it up straight away. She seemed fine and wanted back out again so my partner let her out and she just curled up at the end of the garden.

After about an hour I went and brought her in, which was my first sign somethings not right because she usually bolts as soon as I get close while she's outside.

I gave her some treats and she drank some water then she came and curled up on my knee, second sign something isn't right she doesn't sit on my knee because everytime she tries my oldest cat will sit on her to reclaim my knee.

About an hour after that she went to the door again let out a yowl and threw up the treats and water. now she is curled up in her favorite spot at the top of the stairs.

We think she has probably just eaten something she shouldn't have whilst she was out all night but I tend to worry so should I panic and rush her to the vets or just keep an eye on her and hope her stomach settles?

Me personally I would take her to the vet but that is just the way I am.  My concern is that it could be some kind of poisoning rather than just something that didn't agree with her.

That's what I thought but I tend to panic, I'm a very overprotective cat mummy.

She is alert and responds to me but she hasn't tried to go out since I brought her in which is not like her at all

She is much more alert this morning and had breakfast though she's still not trying to get out at every opportunity.

I gave her some boiled chicken and rice yesterday and she kept it down so we decided to take her if she throws up again which she hasn't so hopefully it was just something she ate, she has been vole hunting recently.

Best to be super cautious, my cat was throwing up and not wanting food, or wanting it and not eating it. I took her to the vet - she had pancreatitis luckily she was ok after a few days, but she had to have IV fluids, antibiotics etc. Luckily she started eating again after a day or so at the vets - if she hadn't it could have been a very different story.

When cats stop eating even for a few days they can get liver problems fairly quickly - this can be fatal!

Glad your cat has started eating, I would keep her inside so you can monitor whether or not she is vomiting, if she is still vomiting I would take her to the vet. It is best to be safe than sorry!

Licking lips- is a sign of nausea, and when cats lay with there paws tucked in ( like they have their arms folded) this can (but not always) be a sign of pain. Although cats are very stoic so they rarely show they are in pain, they often just want to go off somewhere and be alone.

Best wishes, I hope your cat keeps eating and is on the mend:vibes:
