Hello, Happy Saturday.

Do you have a favourite fairground or amusement park ride? Which ones do you hate?

I like old fashioned carousels, because they're so nicely painted, but I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to roller coasters. There is a big amusement park not far from here that has some terrifying looking roller coasters. One of them has an arc that swings right out over the road, you can hear people screaming every time you drive past.

I don't mind Ferris Wheels, they don't go that fast and there's a good view from the top. I've been to Disney Land and I liked the tame little rides like Thunder Mountain. Don't fancy anything faster than that though.

Give me the biggest, the baddest, the most awesome roller coaster and I'm a happy girl.

(Can't do Ferris wheels because I don't like heights. When Rick was in Vegas, he rode the High Roller, which is 500-feet high. He said it was amazing. I'll pass, thank you.)

I have never been too big on amusement park rides.  When I go on one it's the little tame rides, not big on things that go fast or high.  I do like to go to the state fair but it's to look at the exhibits and of course pig out on some of the carnival food.

i used to enjoy the big fast roller coasters, but not anymore. i find the jerking from side to side and that the ride is over within a few minutes very annoying, especially since the lines for those rides are so very long.

i really like the kiddie roller coasters, those are fun. and i love the carousel.  i also very much enjoy the ferris wheel. though i'm not afraid of heights, it does make me a little nervous when i look straight down while being up very high on a ferris wheel. so i look more 'outward and down', enjoying the view.

oh, and i like those spinning cups rides. the ones where several people can sit in a very large cup-shaped 'car', and when the ride starts the cups are moving (location wise) and spinning.

I like the stuff at Disney World Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion and stuff like that but my favorite one of all time used to be Mr Toad's Wild Ride. It's still at Disney Land but Disney World got rid of it a long time ago.
I used to to go to Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ when I was a kid but I don't remember a lot of the rides. I hate roller coasters.

I do love Patrick Star though

I like the tame rides, like Haunted Mansion and tea cups. I can't handle most roller coasters. The few times I went to amusement parks with friends I always ended up being the bag holder while everyone else went on the coasters. :'(

I used to love the rides when I was a kid. The parks we went to were Glen Echo and Marshall Hall in Maryland. I'm going back 50 years. They are long gone now. Il don't care for rides anymore. Just looking at them scares the heck out of me.

In my day, they were called the merry-go-round.  I also liked the ferris wheel but never, ever a roller coaster.  I think I went on one in my whole life and will never do it again. Call me a wuss but that's ok.

I love roller coasters! And there is a roller coaster-like ride at water parks that plunges you through water. Oooh. It's the best! I hate Ferris wheels though as I'm scared of heights. Merry go rounds are fun but not high octane like roller coasters!

I love roller coasters. But I prefer the ones that are actual RIDES instead of just shooting you up in the air and then being done :lol3:. I don't like heights---I can tolerate a high roller coaster because it's moving fast, but no ferris wheels, nuh-uh. Too much time to look down! I like fancy carousels but mostly to look at. I get dizzy being on one and if you don't have a kid with you it feels a little weird. I don't like rides that make me dizzy although teacup rides are fun. But no centrifuge-type rides!

I don't go on rides at the fair. If a ride can be folded up and put on a truck, no way! I only go on permanently-installed rides at parks.

I've always considered a merry-go-round to be the roundy thing at the playground and a carousel is the fancy thing with painted horses, etc. Haha, probably a silly distinction but that's how I think of it.

In my youth i was very wild and indiscreet. Now you couldn't get me to even go to one of their fields.

I remember a centrifuge type ride, I don't even know if they still have it.  Each person is in their own little cage around the wall, the cage is only on the sides not the front.  The thing starts spinning fast enough so you are like pasted against the wall then the floor of the thing falls away.  That thing always scared me.

Oh my God, I remember that, but I am afraid of rides.  I remember thinking how wild that was.  I forget the name.  Someone will remember the name.

I also remember one that went counterclockwise and clockwise as you sat in with one or two other people and the cars would go up and down, in this circular ride.  Then the announcer would say "we're going to go faster"!   I could never do those rides.

I forgot to say, it was like you were being held in by gravity!

@Kat0121  That mini roller coaster looks just about wild enough for me.

This is the one in the town not far from where I live. It's called DoDonPa, which is supposed to be the sound of a pounding heart beat. Every now and then you catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji, if you haven't got your eyes screwed shut in terror.

Loved Tower of Terror in Hollywood Studios. LOVE IT!

Then Aerosmith Rockin'Roller Coaster, also in Hollywood Studios.

I've become afraid of wooden roller coasters, so I stay away from those.

I love the Rockin' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios but so far I've refused to go on Tower of Terror. My brother actually had me convinced the last time we went, but the line was over an hour and it was already late so it didn't happen. I HATE free-fall rides but my brother says it's just different enough that I would like it anyway. I don't know. . .
