My cat's nail. Does he need a vet?

My Murray wears those soft paws. I came home and noticed the nail on his back paw is sideways. All of the soft paws have fallen off except this one. Should I wait for it to come off or does he need to be seen at the vet? The vet is open until 10 (it's 8:20 right now). Please write back.

You can just pull off that soft paw claw cover.  They are soft and you shouldn't have any problem doing it.  It seems that it is time for you to get his nails clipped and get more soft paws if that's what you want to do.  Personaly I prefer just clipping their nails weekly, not too short, but just to keep them dull.
