Has anyone tried Hills Urinary Hairball formula? In comparison with Purina Urinary?
My cats have been on Purina Urinary for a few years. So far we have not had a single urinary issue since the switch.
My only complaint with the Purina Urinary is it makes them constipated. The vet suggested Miralax which works. But it is one more step to preparing their food. Everyone is on pills for their health issues (asthma, allergies, and urinary issues), so I would like to have less work preparing their meals. It takes 20 minutes to prepare their food, their pills and feed them. 2 cats are on a special diet, others need their pills ground up/crushed, placed in pill pockets etc.
Plus it is not easy to have a petsitter come when everyone needs special treatment!
The Hills Hairball is rather high in fiber. Not sure if that is good or bad.
I heard low residue is better for constipation, but that did not work for my one cat who is on canned food.
